Suleiman doesnt want to throw canelo to the wolves just yet therefore he came up with a plan that would justify a temporary berto route for the kid.
Here is the plan a wbc tournament that would keep most of the wbc top guys busy.
angulo vs rhodes - vanes vs saul roman the winner of that faces paul williams I think and the winner of that fight will face the ginger boy.
Clever way to protect him for some time.

Is this confirmed? Because if it is I'm much more interested in watching these guys fight each other rather than Alvarez because its sounds like a good set of matches. Then you could possibly have the redemption of P. Will in the process.

Alvarez is one of talented fighters today.. elite? not yet.. still learning.. but the problem is, his Fans and Media are hyping him.. that's why some are disappointed to his last fight.. because of the hyped.. Alvarez did not exceed their expectations..

Alvarez has lots of potential. Really good for only 20 years old.

It was a crappy way for Canelo to get the belt but he is no longer a prospect now, he is the youngest lt. Middleweight "Champion" ......get used to that!

that's not saying much, technically speaking he is but you know belts dont mean ****, especially when he beat a c level welterweight to win the jr middleweight championship... he hasnt beaten anybody to be called a champion

right now he is just hype that's all, mexican have some hope but lets see,, panchito bojado was supposed to be so big before he even signed a pro contract and you saw how that turned out

Look, to be honest, it's totally fair to protect him, but it's not cool to give him a title at a weight he's not fighting at when there's legitimate contenders for it. That's just not cool.

Paul Williams beating all the other contenders and putting a Margarito/Cotto like beat down on Alvarez would be glorious!

How is setting a tournament to find the best at 154 to face Canelo protecting him? Will he be facing the worst of the tournament? He is guaranteed to face the best of 154...

It works both ways, Tourney or no tourney... Canelo is facing a top guy by end of 2011 and a top 5 guy next.

GBP wants to take the chance to create a super star, or demolish him... Vargas style. they are rushing him with the title... and we have front row seats to see what happens next...

    all in due time.

Knew something like this would happen. A WBC tournament without the champion involved..those corrupt ****s De La Hoya and Sulaiman have thought this one out.

And who is Alvarez going to fight?

Odds on it will be another welter..probably the calibre of a Gianluca Branco, Michael Jennings, Dmitri Salita..

    .. or maybe Demetrius HOPKINS
