He got busted up by Emmanuel Augustus so that's pretty bad. After the first fight, Hopkins toke Allen to school in the rematch so badly that Allen was being an actor. Rematch was fought very cautiously and was boring until the 7th-8th because Hopkins didn't want to lose the opportunity to face De La Hoya. I also like how people downplay the Trinidad win like Trinidad didn't have a belt, wasn't dangerous, and wasn't coming of a brutal ko win. Had Hopkins lost, people would say he wasn't that good off to begin with. I just don't get people.......
I think Mayweather's recent behavior has overshadowed his early accomplishments in many peoples eyes. If you look at both records/accomplishments with a microscope Floyds is defintely better, but many here are either too young to remember the early Floyd, or are focused on his recent vacations, accusations, etc. Floyd really has become his own worst enemy, hope he gets everything straightened out and turns it around with his last few fights.
hopkins lost his 1st fight which is worse then catching a bleeding nostril in which you call busted up. anyway hopkins has been disrespecting floyd forever hes jealous so be it you cry when floyd says something back so i guess its true people only here the gunshots but never see the slap that caused it
This isn't close to call or anything remotely of the sort. Floyd's record is padded with has-been's and never-were's. To be fair, Hopkins has a lot of fluff through middleweight BUT that was the only competition there was to offer at the time. Floyd had a choice to face better competition and faltered at proving his "greatness" every time by facing stiffs. B Hop's is greater based off his post-middleweight run alone. No joke.
I love how he doesn't bring up the Tarver fight or even the fight with Pavlik which I and a lot of others thought he would lose
Yeah his post middleweight run that included Kelly Pavlik, Antonio Tarver, a fat winky wright and uh uh uh, oh yeah the corpse of Roy Jones Jr. GTFOHYFB
Floyd in terms of talent + resume definately. He's just got a lot more haters than Hopkins so will always lose a poll like this. By the way does anyone really think Floyd would lose twice to a fighter at Jermaine Taylor's level?
This could be a potential argument if Hopkins actually lost either fight. But anybody who isn't blind would know that he spanked Taylor. Twice.
