    Cost effectiveness is not the issue. Its putting in a clause in a contract that may be detrimental to the performance of a fighter. Manny said he didn't want to do tests on the day of the fight. He believes it weakens him. Floyd wants Manny to take blood tests ON the day of the fight. Tell me who's being unreasonable? and it has NOTHING to do whether Pac's on PEDS or Not.

    what makes this fight so special that it deserves its own independent tests not sanctioned by the NV or Texas athletic commissions. this fight is guaranteed to make 25 mil for each fighter? then why shouldn't a joe schmo who is 1-0 not be subjected to random fights? How do we know HE'S not using?

    yeah, the precedent is you shouldn't drag your opponent's name through mud without concrete proof.

    It will get settled out of court or he'll win. Either way, the Mayweathers are ponying up money. they'll pay it too because they can afford to.

    There are very few cases that won Pac won't be the first one.

    I understand that, but from the perspective of proving they "knew what they said was false." It will defintely be interesting.

    If GB and MP go in and say, "I honestly believe he is on PEDs, especially since he accepted then rejected the testing." And the judge rules them guilty, it will set a precedent regarding the level of proof of knowing they were saying false statements.

    That's not true, even from the first negotiation. Under the guidelines of the OSDA they weren't to be tested something like 24hrs to fight night.

    Reguardless of that, if the OSDA don't find anything suspicious from Pac or Mayweather's blood then they don't feel the need to continue blood testing. Mayweather can't force the OSDA to blood test Manny whenever he wants it done.

    When/where did Floyd say he wants Manny to take the tests ON the day of the fight? He wants random up until the day of the fight, he can't choose when they test him.

    Same thing that made Floyd vs Shane that special. Floyd asked for it, Shane accepted it, the fight made enough that it could cover the costs no problem. Team Pac could simply say no, move on and stop speaking Mayweather's name. If a Joe Schmo wants to use these tests he can request them in negotiations just like Mayweather did.

    SHHHHHHHHH. They don't like it when you tell them facts. Would you do the testing to if someone asked you and they were taking the testing as well? I would and I would beat their ass too for even assuming I was cheating. I damn sure wouldn't sue them. What about you?

    dude, why do I have to sound like a broken record here. Floyd says Pac has to take it up to the day of the fight.

    that's what floyd said many times.:patsch:patsch

    Pac's been moving on. he's fought Hatton,Cotto,CLottey,Margarito, and now Mosley since Money came out of retirement.

    You forgot the issue that Mosley used PEDS in the past. Of course Mosley had to take it to prove his innocence. and the loss didn't help his case either.

    Its YOU FLoyd fans who hasn't moved on.

    There's an analysis here by an attorney:

    http://www.fightlawyerblog.com/2011/01/oral-argument-set-for-motion-to-dismiss.html

    I don't share your optimism toward Pacquiao's chances. Surviving the dismissal claim was pretty much guaranteed since the bar wasn't that high. I don't have access to the documents themselves, but the claims noted in the link above against Mayweather and Mayweather Promotions look really weak. I mean, suing for defemation based on:

    • "when asked on a nationally-broadcast radio interview about Pacquiao’s physical development, Mayweather, Jr. responded, 'cause we know the Philippines got the best enhancing drugs'";
    • "Based on Pacquiao’s alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs, Mayweather, Jr. stated publicly he had 'great doubt as to the level of fairness [he] would be facing in the ring that night'";
    • "At a press junket, Mayweather, Jr. stated, “Pacquiao’s got the power pellets, yo, and the steroid juice. Pacquiao got the power pellets you know.'"
    (from the link above)

    Really? It's in poor taste, but I wouldn't understand that to mean that Mayweather knows what he's talking about.

    I don't know if the GBP stuff is equally silly looking - I'm not a lawyer (yet) nor do I have access to Pacer (or even know if the documents are otherwise public and free) - but this case just stinks of a grudge. I mean, what are the damages going to be? Did a sponsor walk away or something?

    This is a opinion based article with distorted facts though which is why it doesn't hold much weight. First and foremost 14 days from Mayweather was offered after the 24 days were offered. So it would have been Pac's move in the negotiation not Mayweather's to ask for 18 days. Instead when Mayweather asked for 14 days Pac's camp offered 24 days again. Then lied that 14 days was ever offered.

    Mayweather concessed with 14 days from what he was originally asking. Pac was only concessing to 6 days from what he wanted to renegociate. Only after video footage was found of him doing so. Why would Mayweather need to offer more concession if he is consessing 14 compared to 6?

    It means that they are open to being randomly testing up to the day of the fight. Doesn't necessarily mean that they will be tested up to the day of the fight. That call is made by the OSDA depending on if they feel they NEED to do so.
