Ricky Hatton had the best following hands down!!!

Hatton is loved! The thing about him is he is down to earth and people think he is "one of us" you know the drinking 15 beers and eating pie and chips afterwards. He didnt take himself too seriously I think he even coined the name "Ricky Fatton" for when he balloned up inbetween a fight!

Then he would go into the ring and he wasnt the most skilled fighter but he more than made up for it with heart and determination. Even if you dont subscribe to that part of English culture I think alot of people admired Ricky!

Calzaghe is Welsh so he is at a disadvantage straight away but even more than that he doesnt have the personality of Ricky and his fighting style was a bit awkward too!

I doubt we'll ever see another fighter get the support of Ricky. *There's only one Ricky Hatton*

Hahaha mate i miss Hatton, what an event it was when he fought.

I never got to Vegas to see him but seen him many times in Manchester, Tszyu, Lazcano, Mcgee, Tackie, Stewart, Olivera. All brilliant nights, im a big Everton fan and was at Wemberly when we beat United in the FA Cup semi final and the Hatton-Tszyu fight beat that, thats how good it was.

To be honest the hype for this fight was great Floyd plays the bad guy so well and Ricky fans would have hated him with a passion.

Yep I watched every single episode of 24/7 for that fight me and my boys all piled into a friend of a friends house and watched the fight you could cut the tension with a knife!

I remember I said I thought Mayweather would probably win and during the fight one of the close rounds my mates, mate said Hatton had won it and I said "naa Mayweather won that and he looks like he got him" and the guy looked like he wanted to kill me right there and then lol

After the fight the room was miserable LOL

 

Just made me remember the saying, "misery loves miserable company" :yep
