LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AFP) – Unbeaten American boxing
star Floyd Mayweather's court hearing on domestic violence charges was postponed for a second time to April 28 by a judge on Thursday.

The hearing was originally planned for January 25 but was pushed back to Thursday so that one of the fighter's lawyers could have time to review the evidence.

Mayweather, who did not appear in court on Thursday, is accused of striking and threatening former girlfriend Josie Harris, stealing her mobile phone and threatening two of their children in an incident on September 9.

Lawyers for Mayweather have denied any wrongdoing by the fighter, but Mayweather faces up to 34 years in prison if convicted of the charges, which include felony counts of grand larceny, coercion and robbery.

Mayweather, 34, also faces a battery charge over an altercation with a security guard for his homeowners association, who claims Mayweather poked him during a November argument regarding cars parking outside Mayweather's home.

That case is set to go to trial on April 25.

Boxing fans have hopes that Mayweather, 41-0 with 25 career knockouts, will fight Filipino star Manny Pacquiao in a showdown bout but Mayweather's legal woes have put such talk on hold.

Southpaw Pacquiao, 52-3 with two draws and 38 knockouts and a winner of 13 fights in a row in the past six years, is set to face 39-year-old US fighter Shane Mosley, 46-6 with one draw and 39 knockouts, on May 7 in Las Vegas.

What are the other charges besides beating her up? The security guard? What else?

Who cares? Floyd's not fighting anyway. Other than that, he is of no interest. Unless of course you enjoy his primate behavior.

I agree. although Mayweather is my favorite fighter to watch, he's been retired since 07 and anything after that is gravy. But his career is basically over on the active level and has been for sometime. Anyway,at the end of the day when it's all said and done, Money gonna do about as much time as Roger did after the ST Vil beatdown!

You'd think a guy who wants to fight would take it as soon as possible.

You know what I really don't understand about Floyd detractors is the fact that they don't understand what kinda grip this dude pulls down. The reason I say this is because when this dude started making 15 M vs ODLH and than 20M vs JMM and than 50M against Mosely he just basically disappeared from the boxing scene and labeled himself Entertainer. Obviously entertainers work at much different increments than boxers do. Personally I think it sucks but this dude seems to be keeping the interest of the fan based on tremendous skill. Also this entertainment concept excludes certain opponents based on the brand and what management has attempted to and has been very sucessful buliding," the highest paid boxer in history not acting as a promoter simultaneously." Guys like Margarito and Cotto have fallen to the wayside for big money fights against lesser guys with a belt that could work to his advantage for future big money bouts. Or, just not believing thata certain opponent such as Cotto would even be a decent stepping stone or win that would have historical precedence. This we won't know for years.. So to act as if Floyd is active and a part of the boxing mileau or strata is a misnomer in itself. Think of Floyd as done and if he fights we should all just go," Ah Money gonna comeback? Oh that's interesting."

It may not even be Floyd who's pushing the dates back. I don't get why people keep assuming it's Floyd's team trying to postpone.

It's usually a motion by the defense attorney to push back a date.
