Ali! Greatest of all time no doubt. Joe Louis is so close behind though it isnt even funny. If Ali hadn't lost those 3 years he could have done some amazing things... his prime was taken from him and he never quite was the same when he came back - still amazing but with something missing. I myself am the proud owner of an Ali signed and framed picture with a plaque etc and can post a pic if anyone wants to see. It is above my desk at work

That's easy, Daniel Geale, number 1. :deal

But yeh, great list Ippy, would like to see MW and where you'd have Geale.

A lot of people don't take that into account Gonzo.

Just image the swathe Ali would have cut through the division in those years he was forced to go missing from the ring!

Cheers fellas, hope you enjoyed it. Don't hold your breat on a Middleweight equivalent. Doing those things up is fun, but completely draining!

well done ippy.... great list, i have been researching other peoples top HW top 50 and i find yours much more realistic... heaps of people rate tyson too highly and Holyfield not highly enough. One dude had larry holmes in at 12 or something.

Where do you rate Trevor Berbick?

Berbick is a funny one. He had plenty of potential, but he was a nutter. In the early part of his career he had some good wins. That being said, I'm sure there are fighters from the 60s and 70s, hell just about any era, that should rank above him. He did manage to win the WBC belt, but so would someone like Razor Ruddock or Ray Mercer back at that point in time.

Tyson is definitely overrated on many lists. That's my opinion anyway. Great, great fighter, but his resume doesn't stack up to those in front of him. Having Holmes at 12 sounds like an April Fools joke to me. If Holmes had've been born 10 years younger, there's every chance he'd be sitting at #1 on this list.

Top stuff Ippy...totally agree with my 2 favourite heavyweights being ranked very highly in Larry Holmes & George Foreman.

Awesome list mate...cant really fault it.
