Ok seriously RTE make a big huff about showing the Casey fight and they turn around and send a big camera crew off to foreignland to follow dese dopes: Eurovision documentary for Jedward Thursday 10 March 2011 RTÉ is planning a behind-the-scenes documentary following Jedward as they prepare to represent Ireland at this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Jedward - Representing Ireland in Düsseldorf in May Related Articles Jedward to represent Ireland at Eurovision Eurovision hopefuls are announced New plan for Irish Eurovision entry Jedward staying single Jedward join BBC's 24-hr panel show Corrie star Keegan backing Jedward Jedward 'taking Eurovision seriously' Jedward taxbill on Jackson memorabilia Jedward launch their own currency The documentary is expected to be broadcast during the summer. This year's Eurovision Song Contest Final takes place in Düsseldorf on 14 May, with the semi-finals on 10 and 12 May. Jedward will compete in the second semi-final. The twins' Eurovision hopes were given a boost this week when last year's winner, Lena, said that Jedward's song 'Lipstick' was her favourite in the competition.
World Champion Guillermo 'El Chacal' Rigondeaux will have a public workout at the Montenotte Hotel, Cork on this coming Saturday th 12th of March. Rigo will spar with his sparrng partner Beijing Olympic lightweight Silver medalist Daouda Sow who is 20 lbs heavier than the Champ. Everyones welcome and the last chance to purchase the last few tickets. Workout begins at 2pm. Casey be warned Rigo is in lethal form
I'm with you brother but you have to remember one thing. There are a million grannies and kids and other ****ing eejits who know who Jedward are and will tune in. I'm sure its shite TV but people will click on the station when its on. It's guaranteed viewing. Casey v Rigo isn't guaranteed viewing figures. It's just economics to the suits in Donnybrook
I agree bambam but if anyone is catching the imagination among the gen pop right now, its casey. McCloskey will too once they start spamming sky sports news ahead of his khan fight.
agreed about Casey catching the imagination as much as anyone now. I reckon RTE know it too. I also reckon they have him down as being a brutal KO victim v Rigo so with the economics and that there is little point in showing him. No one (joe punter I mean) is going to want to be on the Casey bandwagon if he gets smashed to bits in a few rounds.
Rte will be showing this fight lads iv been told by a lad that works on the outside broadcast he was told to keep saturday week free, but they were asked to keep it quite for a week i can only assume its to help ticket sales.
This makes senses to me! I would understand that team Casey don't want it going public until all the tickets are sold. Great news:happy
I hope your right but wouldn't RTE and the private financers who are footing the bill want to announce this as soon as possible to maximise viewing figures? Granted, RTE probably lost a lot of jurisdiction over that decision. Also, I think that an announcement could only be good for the fight and would actually assist ticket sales. If a random punter is half aware that this fight is on he's unlikely to splash out on a ticket but if he see's a well hyped RTE add that conjures up the imagination and directs him where to get tickets I think he's more likely to take the leap and buy a ticket. I don't see any 'real' advantage in keeping a TV deal a secret...
This may have been posted already but I just read on maxboxing that Danny Garcia is going to be getting the slot on the April 9th PPV due to Wrights pullout. I thought they were trying to get a replacement for Macklin? Now it sems even if they do he wont be on the televised portion of the card
