There've been loads of threads featuring these two lately. Different versions matching up. No surprise what my views are. Ali would stop Tyson, late in the fight. Up untill the stoppage, some thrilling boxing would be displayed by both combatants. This is probably peoples favourite heavyweight match up nowadays, and it's easy to see why.

Let's use the 1966 Clay. Absolutely no contest. Clay in the middle rounds. I will elaborate if any one wants me to.

Not this **** again, it gets posted literally all the time, with the same responses from the same people every time...:tired

Use the search function, & read the responses in the plethora of topics on this.

Anyway, regarding Peak Tyson ('86 Ribalta to '88 Spinks) vs. Peak Ali ('65 Patterson to '67 Folley), i'll go with Ali by close 7-5 decision.

I wouldn't say Ali schools him. Both men have weaknesses that can be exploited by the other. In terms of head to head against Tyson I see Foreman, Ali, Bowe and maybe Liston giving Mike the most problems.

The most likely outcome for Ali is a close UD after many shakey moments..

  7. Goin w/ Tyson by TKO, m8 . Ali hated this 1 style of swarmer .
Ali was not rly tested , with hard punches ,
in the prime 63-67 . Tyson , wud go to 1 body with the hooks and uppercuts, and also use the vicious hook on Ali, who was vulnerable to this punch .
How , is Ali gon stay outside n "stick", if he cannot beat Frazier , who essesentially was 1 poor version of Tyson .
Tyson did handle good movers b4, like,
    "Ribalta , Tillis , Tucker , Holmes , and others ."
Tyson wud stop Ali in the late rounds in 1 opinion .

The Frazier comparison doesn't really work in my opinion, Joe was able to keep up relentless pressure for 15 rounds, whereas Tyson was noticeably less ferocious after the first 4/5 rounds, its a different type of fight.

How is Tyson gonna stop a man who has never been stopped & faced the some of the biggest hitters in Heavyweight history. Liston, Frazier Foreman, Lyle, Shavers. Tyson's biggest chance is to hurt Ali early & have a skidish referee jump in and stop it prematurely. How on earth could a man with questionable stamina, stop Ali late? The longer it goes the worse for Tyson. after 12 rounds Tyson is in serious trouble

  10. Its different , m8 . Tyson is 1 man tht hits harder then Lyle , Frazier, as hard as Liston and prob less harder then Foreman . In addition to tht , he does have more accuracy , combos , speed, headmovement, and 1 better fighter overall . He was 1 better finisher aswell .Questionable stamina ? I suppose he did show tht,
against Tillis, Tucker, Smith, and Ribalta . Bc, he does not attack consistenly ,
4 the whole fight , does not mean his stamina is questionable . it means he does pace himself.
tht is true but tyson was also ,
more explosive then frazier , and more rapid to the body then 1 frazier. It would be different in tht respect. Ali might well get caught early on aswell if he opens up fast m8

The Ali who faced Williams was the same thing as Ali in 67 since he fought in november. Anyways he would dance circles around Tyson and TKO him or win by decision. Watch the 1964 fight against liston. Liston was not as fast but he was just as strong if not stronger.

Look at how he dances and the speed it's so sick.

ali's movement and combos v williams is amazing, dances like a lightweight. 60s ali would dance circles around the 70s version.

The 60's Clay/Ali embaresses the 70's Ali and the 67 Ali whoops the 87 Mike comprehensively. It's over before the bell rings. Mid round tko.
