BHOP is gonna come in with the same gameplan, and its gonna be the same crappy ending for him Not saying that there is anything wrong with his gameplan, he clearly beat Pascal..... I just think that Pascal is going to make more adjustments and will throw more punches the second time around or be fresher down the stretch... I think that if a fighter feels that he won the first fight, like BHOP does, there will be alot less pressure on him for making changes to his strategy, meanwhile, Pascal is gonna make alot of adjustments so my pick is Pascal MD/SD....regardless of the venue. im rewatching their first fight right now on youtube.....and its amazing how good BHOP still is at his age
OP is wrong. Hopkins will deploy a new strategy for this rematch. Expect to see Hopkins settle down and go for the early KO.
I think part of his strategy should be to not lose the first few rounds while getting knocked down twice and then crying about a draw. I hope he losses badly, I'm sick of his whining and all of you thinking he should just be handed decisions because he's old and cagey. He lost to Calz fair and square and people still won't shut up about it. The draw against Pascal is completely fair. As for the rematch I see another close fight.
I dont have problem with people having their opinion. I have problem with people thinking their opinion are facts. You think Hopkins win, its a fair opinion Pascal/Hopkins was called a draw, thats a fact. Now answering the question. I think that Pascal showed in the past his stamina problem and I dont see any game breaking improvement anytime soon. I wish for a Pascal win and if he can pace himself he could win, but I fear that Hopkins now knowing Pascal he may come in Canada again and made history.
so the judges opinions are facts? go look at compubox numbers, and consider the fact that the first KD was bull**** then ull get your "facts" straight
Go on any internet site in the world the fight was called a draw. Some people give their opinion it wasnt, but the fact are straight, you cant change that. Now, you want to talk about the first KD, well if you call the KO of Green by Johnson a good KO, its the same that Pascal did and so you have to call the first KD of Pascal over Hopkins the same way. Last time I checked nobody were making thread about the Johnson vs Green KO not being good. As another poster said, if Hopkins wasnt drop two times he should have won, but he was drop two times and it was called a draw, thats facts, sorry if you disagree.
Oh and hey, all judging sports have his problem with judges... its the way the sport works. So yes, they are paid to judge the fight and at the end of the fight if their no KO the judge give their cards and the result of those card decide the fate of the fight and then becomes a fact. Im not saying judges are perfect, im saying that judges ruling this fight a draw is a fact.
The thread isn't about their last fight. It's regarding the UPCOMING rematch, and if you think Hopkins will come in old, or will he surprise us all again. I'm interested.
I can answer to this question, the problem is, its not the question of the OP. But I already answered that. So for your question, I dont think that Pascal can adapt before and during the fight. I think he is a good fighter, but he can only boxe one way and more important, I dont see him improve his stamina enough and so even though i will cheer for Pascal, I think Hopkins will adapt and win the next fight.
Hopkins is going to beat Pascal even easier. Pascal has no stamina, and isnt an overly intelligent fighter. Not Chad Dawson stupid but isnt the type of guy who has a plan B. We saw that in the Froch and Dawson fights.
I really doubt that he will have the same game plan. He will have to be the aggressor still because he couldn't win a reflex match, but it will be different, no doubt.
MJK, regardless of the final opinion of the judges and the referees call on the KD, as a boxing fan i saw what i saw, and thats what im stating here based on statistics of the fight There were plenty of shitty judges calls that went on record such as Lewis vs Holyfield as a draw, and in more recent memory Toney vs Oquendo....these calls could be recorded on paper as they were called out by the judges, but people scorring the fight know better....so thats what im stating here, pure and simple. Moving on to the rematch, i dont think Hopkins will make the necessary adjustments as I said before, and even though he is incredible for his age, nevertheless he is getting old, and based on what happened in the first fight, he is confident in his old strategy. I think that Pascal will ensure that he is more active next time around.
