I was gonna say that Mayorga has no chance, but he fought a very good fight against Mosley & he looks to be in great shape. I still think that Cotto wins this fight easy.

Almost no chance. As in nil, nada, zed.

Only stupid idiots gets fooled by Mayorga's pre-fights antics. Amzaing that there are still many of them, after Mayorga gets exposed as nothing but purely a **** talker for so many times already.

    Yes he does.
Rewind to Mayorga/Mosley. Mayorga staggers the **** out of Mosley. Mayorga could land something similar. Cotto has to withstand the whole first half of the fight.

    What we know about Cotto.
-he has given up before. If you count him running from Pac then that's twice.
Don't hate me for saying that, I like Cotto.
But the question with Mayorga isn't can you physically take him on, but can you mentally handle Mayorga in the ring. Mayorga destroys brains not bodies.

punchers chance. It is up to Cotto to not be sloppy and work the body of Mayorga. If Cotto fights smart he can win this fight easily. Sort of like Hearns/Barkley. Hearns was a much better fighter than Barkley, but he gave Barkley chances and Barkley landed.

You know, people talk like Cotto has ever been bombed out by a punch when talking about Mayorga's chances. Cotto has finished both TKO losses on his feet after really, really sustained beatings. Remember Margarito didn't even knock him down. Cotto was being broken up and took knees. Pacquiao, he was going to likely end on his feet and Bayless called a mercy stoppage with Cotto still up. If he wears down during the fight, that's how he's more likely to lose. Although Mayorga has a big punch and is the bigger man, Mosley is an even harder puncher and he landed what seems like a forgotten number of flush bombs on Miguel. Not that anybody can't get bombed out, I just find it weird people are talking about early shots here.

to be honest I was even surprised this fight was made. Mayorga is not ppv worthy and shouldn't have been given another big fight. But he is dangerous even though he does not deserve the fight. Barkley was dangerous when he fought Van Horn and stopped him, but I didn't think Barkley did enough to get the title shot. Mayorga's style is a problem for some people. He is strong and he is somewhat durable, so if Cotto is careless he could get caught or get tired. But in reality he is the better fighter. In someway if Cotto is going to fight Margarito next, this fight is good preparation stylewise.

He has 2 chances--------------slim and none. The mouth that roared will once again exit the ring with a big "L" on his record. It's just a matter of how bad he loses. Does he walk out the ring on his own 2 feet or does he first do the Chicken Dance and leave like he stepping in post holes.

yes m styilicatlly he's a problem for cotto. Those overhand rights and uppercuts are perfect shots to hit cotto with.plus he';s got a granite chin and cotto always has problems with guys who can take his shots and dish them out. But mayorga is probably too far gone at this point. prime for prime he would knock cotto out, no doubt.

  11. he stands a chance if he lands big shots early it could easily go his way , you have to remember this is miguel cotto the man who dropped to the floor rather than take another shot from margarito hes not the ' warrior ' people for some reason make him out to be...

Its not about the loss....its about who you loss to and the way you loss ! I'm sure your not going to understand that to much. Get in the ring a few time !! Just on the sparring level and see what i'm saying. "Cotto", gonna take "Mayorga" apart little by little and come sunday your gonna feel like a complete ass for your ridiculous comments.

Cotto has only shown sturdy chops really in the Mosley fight and part of the Margarito fight. I do think Mayorga can hurt him but with Steward in his corner and his left hook to the body back in his arsenal, I highly favor Cotto to take this W. He needs to tap Mayorga's body with hard shots early and they will affect Mayorga in the later rounds. After the body punishment to Mayorga and avoiding taking unnecessary shots, Cotto should stop him. Mayorga does fight to his level of competition so I give him a chance but Cotto should obviously be favored.
