Purely fatigue cost McEwan that fight.

Lee hit him with much bigger shots when he was fresher and he stayed upright.

    Well done Andy.

even when it was looking bad for lee you could always see him stopping McEwan late on.. Lee's biggest problem is fighting inside, that will cost him if he tries to fight the same fight as tonight against Martinez and co

He done well to grind it out, McEwan was very unlucky, he did most things right. You'd be concerned that Leee's well off world title level though. In a strange way he might get a title fight now, a lot of people will be watching that and will fancy beating him

****in hell my heart is still racing! What a fight, Lee showed some heart. Fair play to McEwan, he was the better fighter for a lot of that fight. Great scrap!

It'll do Andy good having been in an exciting fight on HBO, especially when the main event is starting to look very boring in comparison

Woke the the missus up as well. I rarely get so animated (thats a lie!) but was shouting at the screen like Rogan-Skelton!

I'll call that a vixtory in defeat. His corner needs to be lined up and shot in the bawsack as well!

Serious defensive flaws. It was like a Duddy defense at times. If McEwan had kept up the pressure, I thought he would have won. Serious heart and courage by Andy though to pull it off. It wasn't a commanding performance by Lee, but it was exciting....

ya i couldn't believe how relaxed his corner were, there was no sense of urgency coming from them or any strategy. lee really needs to work on his defence and his fighting on the inside is woeful, but i don't think this will ever change. still a win is a win i suppose.

I gave Lee round 1, McEwan won the next 4 rounds in a row though. I than gave Lee 6/7/8 and had it even except for the knockdown in round 9. Did lee hurt the left hand? Also I thought that he was trying to force the hard punches a bit early. If he can start fighting more aggressively with the jab or double jab rather than counter punching, I think he could improve on the outside. As for the inside - I think he should spend some time sparring Bernard Hopkins to learn all about inside fighting. Starting with the basics. That said, he got his 2nd wind and showed the heart and desire to win and did it in style.
