Pac still clearly numero Uno Martinez is Number 2 IMO...3 excellent and decisive wins LATELY but before 2008 WHO as he beaten??? His resume is to weak compared to Pac's legacy...
Martinez last few fights have been Benzema Cintron Williams Pavlik Williams Dzinziruk He was only the favorite in the Dzinziruk fight. Pac has been the favorite in everything but DLH.
Your top statement is true but then please explain why the hell Mayweather is at #2 or even on the list for that matter. He's retired and hasn't fought a relevant fight for over half a decade.
If P4P is not determined by recent level of opposition alone then I am guessing its determined by the boxer's history? If so, lets say Lenox Lewis were to come back would he get on the P4P list right away due to the fact of what he has done in the past?
I'm not going to erase Martinez win over Pavlik cause Pavlik fought Hopkins at 170 pounds And Pavlik wasn't destroyed. Pavlik was just got outboxed easily by a legend at a higher weight class. Pavlik was still undefeated and destroying opponents at mw before he fought Martinez so don't give me that ****. And Before facing Pacquiaio at a bs catchweight, Cotto was beat up badly by Margarito at a ww limit when Cotto was undefeated rather Margarito had loaded gloves or not. <<<Cotto still wasn't the same and you know it so again don't give me that ****.
:thumbsup It's pretty obvious from his constitution why he doesn't have power. I read somewhere that Dzin hasn't been knocked down up until now (obviously), even in the Amateurs. Can't say how true that is as I have only watched a few of his fights... I think that he has a chance to win a title at MW. The combination of skill and power of Sergio was too much for him.
Or he could pull a Pac and tell the 168 guys to come down to 161 for a their title. Oh wait. He is not a ***** like Pac. He already said it himself. He will fight Pac at 154 for his old title. Of course Pac only fights dehydrated fighters for titles.
I would like to know too why the hell they have Mayweather on #2 if he hasn't fought in over a year and supposely is retired? Mayweather can go another year inactive and people will still have him at #2 while everyone else is getting in the ring to fight.
I base p4p on dominance in career and recent performances and he has done very well in that regard. I am removing him from my list period if he does not sign a fight by May. at Pacquiao being a favorite over Hoya, Cotto, or Hatton.
Ya was never knocked down through 195-25 Amateur record and 36 pro fights, until now. Any other 154lb guy would have looked dead on the canvas like Williams with those shots Martinez landed.
not on my list, he is a great fighter and fun to watch but to put him in the #1 is just not right but then again p4p lists are very subjective
