Probably won't be up long, but here's the final sequence where Mayorga claims to have injured his thumb/hand. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w23SEVG7_zo[/ame]
He did hit Cotto on top of the head, but can't really tell if it did the damage (assuming there was damage done)
Ya Was kinda confussed by the way he was holding his hand. It was like it went knumb or lost control of it or something.
Yeah, my gf and I watched the half or dozen or so replays and kept looking at each other wondering wtf we were missing. He didn't land a left that could have conceivably caused it to break. He's pushing off with it (mostly with his forearm), then pushes again, then throws a left but misses, and then eats that big shot from Cotto and starts going down - and THAT is when he starts pointing at his left and shaking it, on his way down... When the hell was it supposed to have been "hurt"? :huh Weird **** from Mayorga, there. He's never been unwilling to go out on his shield before...but that was very sketchy.
Someone here ventured that Mayorga might have bet for a Cotto TKO in 12 whatever little money Don King leaves him. I think Mayorga can pull that one off. It's too much speculation, though. But it's also weird how he was looking at his arm, as if he had no control over it.
in the 12th round he hurt his thumb? So what. How is that an excuse? Not like he had the whole fight ahead of him. He lost the fight fair and square and he shouldn't have been in a ppv fight. People like his act in press conferences, but he never wins the big fights. And Cotto isn't even an elite fighter.
