How the hell is Cotto shot? He's looked like that for the better part of his career. Solid jab, hard combinations, and good power in his shots, which didn't look as impressive as they could have due to Mayorga's chin. Not a defensive wizard, but he wasn't easy to hit for Mayorga by any means; he missed quite a bit due to Cotto's improved head movement, guard, and footwork.

Go back and watch Cotto-Mosley; his fundamentals are once again sound, and I imagine Steward will continue to improve him and develop a good game-plan.

Um, late 30s, looked like **** vs Mayo, got raped by Money, couldn't even beat Mora, the same Mora who got his ass kicked by Vera, yet because he fought someone who was slow and unskilled he looked great. Same thing will Happen for Cotto here, Canelo is a guy who could make Mayo look like a master boxer.

Cotto Not having no D is okay...

But Canelo Lacking D against a guy he did not respect means canelo is Hype...

Anyone see Canelo NDOU he showed good D because he respected the opposing fighter..

Cotto and a natural 154 pounder with hunger, Power, and being young and much bigger then COTTO... you can't count out canelo

It would be a 50/50 fight anyone that thinks different is not really looking at the nig picture.

Mosley pulled out that last great performance due to a temporary revival in his career from a change in his career and Nazim's techincal advice. It had more to do with that than the fact Margarito was unskilled/unfocused,I'd favor Margarito today to beat Mayorga pretty much at any point in his career. Unfortunately he didn't get a fight until over a year and two training camps later.

Mosley looked worse against Mayorga than Cotto did with Jack. Cotto boxed safe, won a comfortable majority of rounds, landed hard shots, and got the stoppage.

Cotto gave mayorga too much respect and was just content with outboxing him. Against saul cotto im sure would be a lot more agressive and can take him out.

Mosley would've whooped Margo's ass no matter who was training him, as for Mayo, when he fought Shane he was much better fighter than he is today. Which doesn't matter because all would likely beat Canelo.

Cotto was little gun shy and you can really see the content there was in cottos eyes with just outboxing Mayorga... but he has always been like that. He gets stronger in the end and Usually KO's you.

Cotto and Canelo would be a good scrap and Cotto would have a good fight against a young naturally bigger, stronger and just as fast as cotto...

They both LACK D which would create some fireworks...

    :smoke

I wish TOP rank wasn't in the way...

Cotto is war torn from the fights with pacman, MOsley, Margarito and Torres. All wars. Cotto is one of my favorite fighters but this is not the same vato that beat down Judah. Canelo was not impressive last week really? He dominated for 12 rounds and the only thing he didnt do was Knockout the game Hatton. I think Canelo would beat Cotto. He is naturally bigger, and hits pretty hard. I think it would be a competitive fight with Canelo edging it out by possibly droping Cotto.
