I just dont understand why all these *******s keep saying Martinez is too big for Pac yet he fought Margarito who is actually bigger than Martinez.

Martinez is listed at 5'10" and when he weighs in at 160 he comes to the ring at 170.

Margarito is listed at 5'11" and when he weighed in at 150 he came in at 165 vs Pac.

Its obvious Margarito has grown into a MW just like Martinez. Im sure if Margarito weighed in at 160 he would easily be at 170 or more on fight night.

The only difference is Martinez looks to be better than ever while Margarito had been under performing and just taken beatings.

Lets see after the Cotto destruction Margarito-Pac was mentioned and Roach said no way in hell. Once he gets beat by Mosley and has the layoff then of course Margarito is a 'tough' fight for Pac. Roach said it himself.
"i saw your last 2 fights"

Now on to Mosley. After his destruction of Margarito he wanted Pac and guess what Roach said he is too big at WW and they tried to get out of it by saying 143 or no fight so Mosley says ok lets do it and Roach said no he is too good. Now that he looked bad 2 times in a row and age caught up then yes its a very difficult fight for Pac based on styles. **** off Roach!!

We now have a few special fighters all close enough in weight. Martinez said he would go down to 154 where Pac has won a title before so make the fight and give us a p4p clash. Stop doing your typical bull**** and just give the fans a great fight.
Size doesnt matter here. Just skill does and Martinez has more skill than anyone Pac has faced recently.

So next time you *******s defend this fight not happening dont say
    "Martinez is too big"
    say
    "Martinez is too skilled"

Pac beat Margarito & beat him bad. Martinez would put Margarito in the cemetary, while if Pac ever fought Martinez, Pac would end up in the hospital.

    Simple analysis.

:happy Great post. I still have respect for Roach and Manny, but the trend is becoming a little obvious as Roach is picking bigger, big name fighters coming off losses to fight Pacman. I don't blame Manny for this, but the *******s just dont know what else to come up with and they are in panic mode.

You can argue that Margo is bigger than Martinez. But the thing is Margarito was also too big for Pacquiao. The difference is Martinez is very close to Margarito in size, but much better in terms of skills. They are both too big for Manny, Margarito is not a top 3 p4p talent, while Martinez is. In simple words, Martinez is too good for Pacquiao to get away with fighting at such a size disadvantage.

Martinez is to skilled, not just big.. he actually smaller then Margo.

I've said this before... this is why Margo always has problems making weight because he based his career on always being the larger man so he had to drain himself a lot to have a great size advantage over his opponents...

Martinez always tried staying at his natural weight to not be weight drained.

Exactly. So then should Martinez fight Jesse Brinkley for a 168 title and call it a great accomplishment like Pac has been doing for the past few years.
I just tell it like it is.

If Martinez fought Brinkley for a vacant 168 title at a catch weight of 164 would that make Martinez great? NO!!!

Did Martinez ask for a catch weight against Pavlik when he fought for the lineal MW title? No he fought him at 160 and Pavlik came into the ring at about 180 with a hugge size advantage.

They are the same weight. Margarito just has more height which would make him bigger then.

    Next!!

Martinez is bigger than Margarito, even if Margarito is taller.

Margarito never fought as a middleweight.

Martinez is a certified middleweight champ.

A former light flyweight isn't obligated to fight a middlweight champ.

    Pure butthurt thread.

It's not just about size, its about ability too.

Why would they risk Pacquiao with someone that will stand an excellent chance of beating him when they can put him in with a 39 year old Mosley coming off a loss and a draw, before dragging Marquez up to 147 and finishing off with a past prime Cotto that is being spoon fed opponents like Mayorga to try and make him more relevant.

All of which will probably make him more money than Martinez too.
