    where is the Dempsey KO option.?..u think Haye's chin woud stand up tp the hardest puncher of his time?....the Manassa mauler beat guys much bigger than him..

    Dempsey was a rugged, mostly rudimentary skilled 1920s brawler...how anyone can say he'd beat ANY skilled modern heavyweight (or even lightheavy) is just...ridiculous.

    Its stupid comparing sportspeople from different eras.

    Better training,nutritions etc.

    Its like comparing Babe Ruth to A-Rod, or Wilt Chamberlain to Shaq.

    You've missed his point entirely.

    People like Haye didnt exist in the 20s. His size,strength and speed,and even skill set were unheard of at the time.

    Thats why its stupid to compare fighters of different eras.

    By modern standards,Dempsey wasnt even a heavyweight.

    You can compare legacies,but comaring head to head is just stupid.

    :lol: :patsch The fact that you think Haye is more skilled than Dempsey speaks for itself. The all around skill set of guys like Dempsey or Tunney far exceed that of the average belt holder today from 175-HW.

    Dempsey didn't have roids to rely on in the 1920's. You look at Haye when he was a 19/20 y/o amateur, he was skinny assed punk.
