I know, you should make another prediction!

You could predict that Magee will beat Bute! Why not?

and then if you're wrong, here's what you can do. You can say it was just a scam!

wrong, you were arrogant, while there is nothing arrogant about saying that I know some fighters that you don't. It's just normal, since we live on different continents.. it has nothing to do with "not knowing there is boxing outside north america". Which is an arrogant and childish statement.

It was arrogant of me to say something in jest?:huh

That's odd. So it's arrogant to make a joke, but it's not arrogant to make an assumption based on where an indiviual lives? I would consider it more arrogant of you to say that you knew of three fighters before myself because of where you reside, rather than me insinuating that our noble sport is practised outside of North America in a non-serious fashion.

No it's just normal, since I know of these fighters almost the moment they turned pro, when they were still local fighters not even fighting on TV.

you were insinuating that if someone hadn't heard of Magee, it means that he's closed minded and thinks boxing outside North America is not important. Which is simply not the case.

I don't even know why I need to explain this to you, it's obvious.

    anyways, this conversation has sidetracked

No, it's not normal. You know, the amateurs? There are tonnes of fighters you and I both would have known of before they had turned professional, so it's incorrect to just assume that I wouldn't have already known of them. For example, Bute won a bronze medal at a world championships, why would you think that I wouldn't have known that?

I insinuated nothing, I merely made a jovial statement that you, for whatever reason, blew out of proportion.

I don't rate Magees win over Larsen... Larsen was a shadow of his former self and seemed like he didn't want to fight (turning his back to Magee on several occasions).

Magee seems like a fighter who always comes to fight and give it his all... A big heart but poor skills... Bute by late stoppage..

I like your post. It's fair for everybody.

Martinez just fought Dzindziruk who was far behind him in every boxing department. Cotto fought Mayorga. To me, it is the same that Bute-Magee. We know that Bute should win easily but nobody was available and it's better to stay busy, isn't it?

According to Bute's promoter, Kessler-Bute could be in October, after a tune up fight for Kessler.

I think the same about the Larsen win. The guy was way past his prime.

Robin Reid was not top 10 at the time, he was shot.

Bute vs Magee is worlds below Ward vs Abraham in terms of class.

You can't change Magees losses to wins.

    Terrible thread. :patsch

Magee is also pretty old himself. This is not a fight people wanted to see. And Bute is not #1 at 168...not even close.
