Who did you have ranked higher? Dzinziruk or Mosley?

Why do you insist that Martinez should be ranked #1? Because of his last 3 fights? Yes, he KO'd a beast in Williams, but whom I also think isn't as talented as a lot of people believe, he had a tough time decisioning Pavlik, who not long ago had a lopsided loss to BHop and was going through personal problems, and a game, but unknown Dzinziruk..

Do those three wins really put him above Pac who has beaten Margarito, Cotto, De La Hoya, Hatton, Marquez, Morales, Barrera in his stretch of wins?

I think it will be indisputable, after Martinez's next fight.

Pac vs Mosely will not (or, IMO, should not) keep Pac at #1, as long as fighters like Martinez and Donaire remain consistent. Since each have something to prove, I believe they will keep pushing themselves.

Floyd should drop down on the list (perhaps to #4), if he signs to fight soon (unless he signs to fight Manny, Martinez or a top fighter at 154), or off the list, if he remains inactive. I assume one of the two will occur, in the next couple of months.

He's a great boxer but he's not P4P#1. His win yesterday was expected and it wasn't a fight where anyone really expected Sergio to lose. It's like PAC's fight with Hatton except that Manny was a smaller man moving up. Great performance from Sergio. he's definitely a beast.

 

the real debate should be donaire vs martinez in the number 3 spot. I don't given martinez much props for beating dzinziruk at middleweight, he wasn't even ranked at middleweight. Donaire has fought all the champions in their weight classes and has won his last 9 of 10 fights by KO inside 8 rounds.

there is no competition for sergio at 154 and 160, he has to move up to 168

 

I agree. P4P is a "what have you done for me lately" list. If you look at the last 5 fights of Martinez, Pacquiao, Mayweather and Donaire - not just WHO they fought but WHEN they fought them, Martinez is #1.

Pacquiao's fought guys coming off of KO's (Cotto, Margarito, Hatton) a past his prime de la hoya (Roach himself said BEFORE the fight that Oscar could no longer "pull the trigger") and Joshua Clottey.

Mayweather is basically semi-retired.

Donaire is just beginning his reign of terror...

 

Whoever has #1 right now is just keeping it warm for Donaire. Martinez will need to move up to 168 (or have Mayweather and/or Pacquiao come up to 154) because there's not much at 160 for him.

Donaire has a ton of options and (in my opinion) can terrorize 118-130 whenever he feels like it.

 

yes, out of all those names you listed, i have cotto as the only actual live opponent over the last 3/4 years (minus jmm, who should have actually won the second fight)...most of those names are, names, over the last couple of years

sergio is going into fights as the underdog and wrecking guys while pac is fighting walking punching bags coming off losses

sorry, but pac needs to fight live competition to keep his p4p status, and mosley, at this point in time, is not going to cut it

 

No he isn't, and anyone who thinks he is is not being objective. There is a man named Manny Pacquaio still fighting.
