He totally outjabbed Ricardo, yet somehow he found himself eating a ton of hail mary leather from mid to long range. His jabs were beautiful, but his defense wasn't anything to write home about.

Am I the only one fairly sure Cotto gets wrecked by Margarito again, should they fight?

With Margarito knowing Cotto suits him and probably hawking at Miguel like a bleeding prey, wouldn't it be nice to see Antonio suffer a career ending loss, against someone like Martinez? Even though he doesn't deserve such a fight..

I think Margarito will stop Cotto again.

Yeah, I think its sad seeing Bob Arum doing this to what is the most likeable guy in boxing. Don't know where the fans get the idea of him beating Margarito up for a rematch. I think it might end even worse, much like when Kermit fought Margarito under Manny Stewart.

Well Mayorga and Margarito have two different styles. Im sure Cotto has second guessed himself so many times of what he should of done to Margo in the first fight like tieing up, attack the body more, and to stay off the ropes. With Margarito we know what we're going to get but with Cotto the man can adjust and adapt.

    What do you mean why?

Cotto will ALWAYS be a hittable fighter. No trainer can fix that.

Cotto always took many punches, but with a jab like that and a trainer like that he should've been able to come out without bruises against a guy like Mayorga.

Mayorga was giving him hell when he was active, and activity is Margarito's main thing, he'll just keep on throwing.

He got hit. He's a boxer-puncher, not a defensive fighter. But his defense has improved a good amount and the only real big shots he took were overhand rights on the back of the head, where he can take them, due to Mayorga's punching angles and height.

For every 20 punches Mayorga threw, he landed three. Considering Cotto's style as a come-forward fighter and Mayorga's physical advantages, he didn't get hit all that much.

Probably had something to do with the fact that he was in a boxing match.

Why was Miguel constantly taking so many punches?

Uh....Because He's Miguel Cotto. Have you ever watched a Miguel Cotto Fight? Defensively Flawed (No Head-Movment, No Body Movement, No Foot Movement) and Poor Stamina. He has always been this way.

The thing is, with such a jab and a plodding hail mary artist in front of him, shouldn't he have been capable of avoiding taking some of those punches he took? :think

Absolutely!!! But again....IT'S MIGUEL COTTO!!! It's like asking Why Charlie Sheen keeps acting like a Deranged Crack-Head? Duh....He's Charlie Sheen. Miguel Cotto has gotten this far in his career with having these same flaws in his defense and Stamina. He was just really fortunate to have fought several fighters that just don't "BRING THE PAIN" Corley, Judah, Malignaggi, Torres and more. Even Torres and Corley wobbled him. He had Margarito Beat...but RAN OUT OF GAS (again Poor Stamina...because you need to have the ability to go the full 12 to beat "The Tornado"). Clottey's lack of activity gave him the fight. Completely gave Cotto an early "Puerto Rican Day Parade" gift by giving away rounds 10-12. And then he and "his team" showed their strategy was complete Bull**** in the Pacquiao Fight. Knowing Cotto has NO DEFENSE..Cotto stood toe-2-toe with a faster fighter who is a Southpaw. Then after taking an ass-whooping, then they decide to BOX in round 10....REALLY, ROUND 10 IS WHEN YOU START BOXING....REALLY?

I dont see any improvement in Cotto's defense under Steward, or any improvements in general.

He's the same fighter. Y'all act as if Steward gave him a jab. Has anybody actually SEEN Cotto's prime fights? He's ALWAYS had a good jab. And he's always been very well schooled offensively. And he's ALWAYS been hittable, and always will be hittable.

Thats not to say he's ever been defensively as inept as Micheal Katsidis, but he always takes shots, and always will.

I'm not sure how much Marg's cheating ass has left at this point, but he could still beat Cotto in a rematch.

I'd pick Angulo to KO Cotto.

Cotto's best bet is to go after the Ginger. Thats a winnable fight for him.

Mayorga is a bad style matchup for cotto. Cotto is open for those looping right hands and uppercuts. A younger Mayorga would have KO'd / TKO'd him.

The fight might go differently this time. Margarito has declined a bit, Cotto has too, but his skills have matured I think.
