Ricardo Mayorga: Boxing biggest world class loser.. Yes or No?

he will not be inducted. No way. There has to be a standard. You induct Mayorga and you lose what makes the HOF rare.

 

Still... Me says nobody can eat / digest the leather that Margarito ate against "Mosley & Packy" and still be at his best come his next outing in the ring, especially when age 32 or older....

The overal general consensus is that a man who handles his diet and training well as a youth is considered a prime athlete between ages 23 to 32... That bracket being the norm... However, some folks like "Benitez, Cuevas and Tyson" can peak at ages 20 or 21... It does happen... PLUS! Some folks who are hardcore badass mothers who live at the gym can still compete damn well at age 35 and slightly above...... The human body is freaky......

Really, its hard to say who's more damaged here in 2011 between Tony M. and Rico Mayo... Both are weatherd....

Mayorga definatley deserves a HOF spot. Character gets you recognition, he's entertained us immensley

I'm not sure if Margarito is shot just yet.

But I think everyone here agrees that all threads need a little Monty Python.

Mayorga is a great self-promoter, thus he's traveled far on modest talent. He loses the big ones....in fact I think the second Forrest fight was a draw at best. He's too wild and undisciplined. He's had a great careerr in the sense that he made some good money without being anything more than a B-minus fighter.

 

Point taken Mr. Bill. But where there's demand, there's usually supply. I'd rather blame Oscar/ Tito/ Cotto (although to be fair, Cotto is still regrouping) for agreeing to fight him than blame him for taking those fights. Mayorga figured out awhile back that there's a market for an easy to hit, loudmouth Latino fighter good enough to pass off as a threat to casual fans.

To give Cotto some credit though, even an old Mayorga is still a full class or two above some of his other stay busy fights (Jennings, Gomez, Foreman, etc.)

 

Again, I'd kill to see "Margarito-Mayorga" come the summer on regular HBO or on a PPV undercard in a crossroads fight that would indeed spell doom for the loser...

EL MATADOR!!!!...lol I think hes done..loved watching his press conferences and his unpredictability was fun..But he knows the gig is up..As for the Margacheato,I think hes MENTALLY shot. not so much physically, after he was found cheating,it did him in,still fights the same just mentally isnt as confident.
