[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"A national title twinbill was scheduled tomorrow (Monday), as WBA#5/WBC#8 Japanese super-fly champ Yota Sato was supposed to risk his belt against formerly two-time world challenger, WBC#4 Kohei Kono, and Japanese #1 super-bantam Mikihito Seto and #2 Kyohei Tamakoshi were to dispute the vacant national 122-pound belt at the Korakuen Hall. However, the dreadful earthquake last Friday inevitably postponed the doubleheader until April 9, since the Hall needs a total inspection.
Another show featuring WBA#5 flyweight contender Tomonobu Shimizu’s encounter with Thailander Petchek Sithkorpolkanpim slated at the Hall on this coming Tuesday was also put off until April 2.
An elimination bout in a quest for the vacant Japanese super-light belt was to be competed by Shinya Nagase and Kazuya Ito on this coming Thursday, but the Hall rejected the usage for its inspection, so it will be postponed until another date. Our impresarios have been desperate to look for alternative dates at the Hall, otherwise they would have been obliged to pay back to all customers that already purchased tickets from them.
All boxing people here in Japan are fine, including Masahiko Fighting Harada, Akihiko Honda of Teiken Promotions, JBC’s Tsuyoshi Yasukochi, all of our eleven world champs (seven male and four female titlists), etc. We really appreciate your concern from all over the world, although more than 10,000 victims by the earthquake and tsunami are sadly expected at this moment."

I hear Tokyo is recovering well from the earthquake, and because it wasn't hit by the tsunami, it's quickly getting back to normal. This gives me hope that the April 8th triple header will go on as planned.

It's been a hell of a week for the Japanese; First the biggest earthquake in 180 years, then a devastating tsunami, a big whirlpool, the nuclear reactors going crazy, and now one of their volcanoes might be waking up thanks to the quakes.

All the best wishes to the Japanese, let's hope mother nature will give them a break and they will recover well.

Glad there champs are ok, I hope they recover well a freaking 8.9 earthquake and a tsunami jesus not to mention 2 of there major nuclear plants got there coolant system knocked off and five reactors got damaged ..."if they can't get adequate cooling to the core, it could be a Three Mile Island or worse," said nuclear physicist Edwin Lyman of the Union of Concerned Scientists, which is working to improve the safety of nuclear power. The loss of coolant at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station in Pennsylvania for only 30 minutes led to a 50% meltdown of the core in that 1979 accident. To add to that(three miles incident) Steven Wing of the University of North Carolina found that lung cancer and leukemia rates were 2 to 10 times higher downwind of TMI than upwind.[15] The Radiation and Public Health Project reported a spike in infant mortality in the downwind communities two years after the accident. They had there military fly in batteries for the plant's and the plants have back up batteries in case this happens but they can only last 8 hours at most ...so hopefully there military flew a lot of them in and there able to restore the coolant system's quickly I wish Japan the best god knows they need it and I love watching there fighters.

Don't think Boxing is the main concern now in Japan, but I'm glad all the champs are doing well. Lets hope they can keep their powerplants stable and they can rebuild their distroyed villages soon.

Koki Kameda was spotted single handedly pushing back the tsunami using only his own body strength and a length of corregated steel..
