he's an established welterweight but that doesn't hide the fact that a regular welterweight outsizes him the way a regular supersix would outsize Sergio. For a 150 lbs catchweight, pac weighed in at a measly 143lbs. Would Maravilla agree to a 150lb. catchweight without complaining about getting drained? if not, then he should look up to supermiddleweight cause that's where greatness lie and some money
No one should be complaining that he's fighting guys bigger than him. He chooses to fight up there. He fought for a a 154 title at 150 - that's great. (There is always a catch involving pac, either it's 144, 146, 150,) Naturally fighters at 147/154 are going to be bigger, if you want to fight up there you'll have to accept they're going to be bigger and if you're going to fight for the titles they should be at the limit. Maravilla shouldn't have to agree to 150, it should be 154 if anything. But there is still business to do at middleweight. He has atleast 2 good fights out there in Strum and Pirog. EDIT: he should be looking up not down, i agree.
If maravilla thinks he's too small for the supersix and wouldn't want to fight them (although he walks around at 175lbs and is just one weight class below them), then he simply has no business in calling out fighters who are even smaller than him and are basically at two or three weight classes below him
if he don't want the supersix, he should fight pirog or he should agree to give a rehabilitated Pavlik a rematch at 164
Froch is too big and strong at the weight for him. Obviously if it was at a catchweight it would depend how low it was. At 168 Froch would give him a beating though.
Firstly, I think Froch would win. He is too big, too strong and too awkward for Sergio to have an easy night and his skills are underrated by many. Secondly, isn't sergio basically a 154'er that's stepped up to 160 and is pwning everyone? He used to fight Welter and is now at Middle, from a guy that didn't start boxing until his 20's that's pretty damn impressive!! Don't get all this hate when someone is doin well. The guy's fighting everyone he can get his hands (fists) on. Give him a break!!!
Probably because 168 fighters walk around at the 180's. This is a guy who spent the bulk of his career at 154. He can still make 154 in my opinion. This isn't foreign terrority for Mayweather (who if he isn't going to fight pacman should fight martinez). So it's one weight class above in reality. Might be a step to far for Pacman especially as he isn't a stand in front of you fighter who plods forwards. Pirog. A Pavlik fight would look the same as last time.
