Klitschko-Haye: An absurd mismatch and hype job

Oh please Shaun don't be a chump all your life. You act like Klit fans have a monopoly on bigotry when you know full damn well it's the individual and not the group that has prejudiced views. You'r just trying your usual bull**** and acting all high and mighty get over it and for god's sake get some bloody *****.

Regardless of who said what for every white fan with a bias there's a black fan with one and then in between there's guys like me who are boxing fans and even then people will still have biased views based on other criteria: Some on aggressive behavior (Tyson) others on mannerism (Klitschkos).

And deep down regardless of what anyone says we all have a little bias one way or the other. Want an example? Men generally socialize with men and women with women; does that make most women sexist and most men sexist as well?

If there were two boxers 100% identical in every way except their skin colour and you asked me who I would want to win I'd say the white fella because I could relate easier to him. If you said the same again including that the white guy was a bit of a big head I'd want the black fella to win because I am a strong believer in modesty.

I think what klit fans are getting at is that a white person today will more openly accept and get behind a black dominant HW than a black man would accept and get behind a white HW and that does not make me a racist it's just a common run of the mill everyday thought which may very well be true once you take your rose tinted goggles and consider that given the history of oppression of blacks it is very likely.

 

Ok Im new to this forum, but why oh why do certain peeps underrate Haye, I sat up when he beat a very good cruiserweight in Calzaghe's studio and since then I have followed Haye's progress.

I think he will be right up the Russian in Burtons windows on a Saturday with his trousers on and a big crowd watching him do it (sorry I lapsed into Glaswegian patois for a second there-lol)

Erm, if you read the rest of the sentence it said 'the Klit fans WHO ARE ARE ACCUSING PEOPLE OF NOT LIKING THE KLITS FOR RACIAL REASONS'.

Maybe you'd care to explain how that's a generalisation?

Seems to me that I was talking about a rather specific group people. Notice I didn't say 'all the Klit fans'? I purposefully said referenced the Klit fans who cite race as a reason why people dislike the brother. So, your post was basically ****.

Again - you made the exact same mistake as the guy above you. If I thought that one group of people was solely responsible for bigotry on this forum then I would be a hypocrite and no better than the people I was referring to in my post. I merely pointed out that I have yet to see race brought up in this particular issue by anyone apart from a small group if Klitschko fans. That's an observation - not a sweeping generalisation.

I'm responding to people in this thread who have said that the only reason people dislike the Klits is because of race. Funnily enough I didn't see you take issue with these people, or the people who make explicitly racists comments, yet you object to what I have written?

And yes, you're right - because I wrote that on the train to work it means that I have no social life or girlfriend, well done. I guess if I really wanna get some ***** I should post more stuff about black fighters being impure. That must be the look girls like.

You're completely missing my point. I have never once said that people will not favour one fighter over another, that's a ridiculous claim. However, if that bias is based on nothing other than skin colour then it's just not ok, is it?

And before you say anything - yes, i'm aware that there's plenty of examples of this happening on the forum.

And no, that is not sexist - but if, as a male, you was talking about a certain character (say a comedian) and you had a theory that the seeing as the comedian was clever, eloquent and funny then women would not like him. That is sexist - it's quite simple.

So you're saying you use skin colour to determine your preference between two identical people? How far do you take that premise?

If you was a boss at a company and to make a choice of recruiting one of two identically qualified and experienced members of staff, one white and one black - do you use the same skin colour criteria to make that decision?

You've just written a post that list skins colour alongside things like modesty and attitude as a legitimate trait to judge a person on. :-(

Firstly, how is it ok to make the assumption that a white man would be more open to a black champ than the other way round? Seems like a hugely unfounded generalisation to me. Do you have any evidence for this other than your own perception of how black people think?

What the Klit fans I am responding to have said is that because the Klits are so clever, charming, friendly and charitable it can only possibly be black people or want to be black who would dislike them. What are we supposed to read in to this? Why just black people? Is it in the nature of a black person to dislike these qualities?

If you'd have read my post you'd have noticed that I addressed quite a few of the points you raised. You'll also have noticed that I said I haven't been following the thread and that I was just taking issue with a couple of points you've made. The fact that you can genuinely claim I didn't address the hand or back injuries is laughable.

Judging by your retort you either didn't read my posts, or you did and you have comprehension skills betraying the intelligence you try so hard to portray. Neither explanation would surprise me.

If you actually want to have a sensible discussion with me I suggest you go back and actually read my posts, then maybe try and construct a relevant response to the points I've raised.

According to him the only explanatiom for people to dislike the Klitschkos is because they are black or 'black wannabes'. Apparently he fails to see the ironically racist nature of these assumptions though.
