My understanding is that Ariza was on a percentage and when the purse grew Team Khan didnt want to continue paying more money. By the way, I can understand that, why should Ariza be demanding more money for each fight, he should be happy with a flat rate.

Also, there was a debacle over this apparent contract that he got Khan to sign just before his last fight. There are a lot of things I would be critical of with Team Khan but in this case I think Ariza has got too full of self importance. He insisted that he only deals with the boxer etc, but that is bull****, he should know that he has to run these things by Khan's management. **** him.

Well it looks like Roach is being two-faced then, because I'm pretty damn sure I heard an interview from Roach saying that "I've paid Ariza".

you are right laz, roach did make both of those statements. So, is it wise for Amir to stick with Roach and his team?

Well if he doesn't like it, then who's he going to go to? Rubio?

There's lies and secrets behind every team, it's nothing new I'm sure.

Obviously there was a time period between the two interviews and Roach could have paid Ariza off in that period.

I also heard from Ariza that TK put a lot of stress on Roach and he didn't like it, so that's what this could lie into.

Roach or whoever have paid him off anyway.

This was my hunch when Khan dumped Alex, pumping 7000cals a day then working most of it off over a 12 week camp was maybe over working Khan and leaving his best work in the camp.

Hopefully Khan will be fitter and fresher with this new guy.

Hope Dudey drops Khan and makes him realise he made a mistake firing Ariza.

Ppl on here are so full of ****

    Roach in his recent interview:

“With Amir, Amir felt that he wanted to move on so he’s working with one of my assistant coaches who’s been here in the gym for about a year now and he’s doing a good job. Alex I paid. I paid him for the last fight just like I always do for every fight, and Amir just tried to move on with a new coach.”

The reason why an athlete training as intensely as a boxer like Khan needs so many cals is for recovery. In order to repair damaged muscle tissue, especially if the fighter's conditioning consists of a lot of power, plyo, aneorobic type training, he needs to ingest copious quantities of protein to keep him in a positive nitrogen balance. In addition a high intake of carbs for glycogen is required in order to fuel such workouts.

Perhaps Khan's new conditioning routine will consist of more recovery time and less plyo and high velocity work, requiring less of a protein and therefore calorie intake for recovery.

But with regard to Ariza in general, it seems clear to me that he may have just become a little too big for his boots, inflating his importance to Roach beyond what it really is. I don't blame him, though, as he's enjoyed a lot of publicity through his association with Roach and Manny and it was inevitable it would go to his head. He should be careful and learn from what happene to ****** Fortune, Freddie's original S and C guy.
