a good boxer with speed, same size or bigger can beat him. a southpaw can beat him. Not rocket science really.
You also need skill. It is also more complicated than you think. There are alot of fighters with speed and being able to box but you have to be able to out think floyd to beat him. But hey, you can't stand him anyway so I can take what you say with a grain of salt.
Cotto would also give Floyd a Hell of a fight if he had resistance to hard punches. His inside combinations would break a fighter like Floyd down but Cotto fights different when he is hit hard. He starts fighting backwards and that's a no no against Floyd. If he had margaritos chin its a easy fight for cotto ..... but he doesn't.
Call me crazy but I think a prime winky would have beat the 2010 Floyd that fights flatfooted. With his defense and 1,2 jab cross I think he gets the decision with cleaner shots. Plus he's Much bigger.
i didnt say cotto was i was only commenting on somebody elses post about it would have to be a big welter with a good jab also floyd isnt the biggest hitter i think the difference in cotto to hatton, oscar and jmm and the rest of the fighters that had truemendous heart, is that cotto knows how to balance that and his boxing skills and gameplan.... hatton couldnt, oscar was too old, jmm was too small cotto's heart took him as far as margo but under manny steward he is dangerous again despite all that floyd potentially has the best defense i have ever seen, but thats not the only reason he is undefeated
First we have to learn how to clone people. Then get Floyd Jr in the ring with himself. I kid,,,i kid...
I think a guy who picks his shots carefully and deliberately like Cotto is never meant to beat Floyd, that would be an easy night for Mayweather. Too slow of hand and foot, and that defense where Cotto glues one hand to his face and squeezes his head between his other shoulder is something that is not going to work against extremely accurate guys. I can't see Floyd beating Martinez, too big and fast and fluid and left handed, and struggling very much with Pac, too quick and hard hitting and left handed and active and not chinny at all. Obviously he has a better shot against Pac, but I think that is a really even fight, even though Floyd is the better fighter in all likelihood, and might be able to impose his distance and right counter potshot, the intangibles favor Pac heavily.
