Do you place Martinez above Mayweather Jr right now on the P4P list?

**** resumes..this p4p ranking is based on how you are fighting Right Now at the moment.

Even though Pac is kicking some serious ass and his resume is pretty good, Martinez's victories over P-dud and that other guy last Saturday are WAY better than Clottey-Margarito.

and Donaire is pretty much on fire too. lots of KO's.

I would keep Martinez there and drop Mayweather down some more due to inactivity.

You are throwing too much logic in there.

That does not work in ESB!!!!! Fighting a 154 pounder in a 160 division makes you number 1. Forget about how that 154 pounder is an overrated bum.

hell yeah for p4p you have to go back at least 10 fights, not the last 4 fights, thats just ridiculous, thats why manny and floyd are on top even though both are cherrypicking to a point.

Short answer, yes. Mayweather is too inactive to be even top ten right now. Other fighters who are taking challenges, winning titles and fighting the best in their division should rightfully be ahead of him...

The second he comes back and wins, he's back in there. Where depends on who he fights and how he performs.

Pretty much agree that P4P rankings should be a rolling 2 year average, because so much can change in just two years. Primes are entered and exited in the span of two years, people can become shot in that span, people can have a major breakthrough in that span. I don't think looking at their overall career is an accurate reflection of their ranking as a current fighter, because they may not be the same fighter today as they were before.

Tommy Hearns can't make a comeback and be considered as the same level of threat today that he was in 1985. It just doesn't work that way. Likewise, a fighter who takes two years off can't be accurately assessed when they return to the ring until the have a fight. That's why eventually Mayweather will have to be removed from the P4P ranking; we simply won't know if he's still even the same fighter. Only recent experience can make that determination.

That said, I'm OK with the idea of Martinez as P4P #1 based on the last two year's worth of fights, although he did lose once to Williams, which makes me OK with Pac being P4P #1 too, since he went undefeated during that same time.

    Mayweather cannot be 3.

You dont lose places for inactivity, he either gets left off the list completely or he is ranked 1 or 2.
