BTW to beat a defensive master you generally need a great jab or to be plenty bigger

YEa since the majority of the 168 guys are 5'10".

Why are PBF and Pac fans saying this? Just stop.
Martinez is a 154lbr. He was a career 147 moved up to 154 then just within the last 18 months moved up to MW. How did he outgrow the division already??

Aside from the obvious physical traits needed (handspeed, decent power & good defense) & the style (good jab, high work-rate) I think the mental aspect is more important.

To beat FMJr I think you need to be determined for the full 12 & not easily discouraged. You need variety, to be able to mix things up & stop Floyd being able to predict your next move.

I dont agree with the southpaw arguement, it all seems to be based on the Judah fight which Floyd won & he has improved since then. Judah did well early because of his speed & boxing abilty, not because he's a lefty. Floyd best shots (straight right & left hook) are more effective against a SP then an orthodox stance imo.

Hatton's foot speed and defense is what helped him close the distance on Floyd and Castillo used intelligent pressure. Margarito would get shut out
