Purdy will have got it due to the performance he put in last year in his fight with Vassell. Was a good scrap but whats the point of eliminators if ure not gona give them there chance. Thought Crolla and McCory's prospect was supposed to be on the bill?
After some of the British ppvs recently it's alright but nothing to pay £14.95 for. I like the Macklin v Gevor fight tho. But to be honest Macklin should be much more active than this as should a lot of British/Irish fighters. Inactivitiy is a disease in this sport.
I saw McCorys prospect lost just didnt think he wud get pulled from the card cos he sells tickets. After watching the press conference, am I the only one who thinks Hatton is trying to engineer a world title fight between Macklin and Murray now he is taking them both down the WBA route.
I like the card. Although it probably looks better to Irish fans because there is more of an Irish interest than on most of the ppv's sky put on. At least it's got a solid top 2 anyway. They will probably show about 4 fights max so I would say it will be a pretty good broadcast even if its not as deep as other shows. 2Just get 2 decent action warm up fights and then the 2 big ones, and it should make for a nice show.
I'm going to the fight and I'm happy enough that there's three Irish lads on the undercard but I appreciate some of the points made here, it could be better in terms of class and no doubt Kavanagh's opponent will probably be shite...
Maybe I'm the exception but I am quite happy with this undercard, provided they show five fights (flip between Martin Murray and Andy Murray-Dezzie Higginson) in full. The way I see it there are four well known domestic fighters on the undercard and as tune ups go, the opponents aren't all that bad.
I would prefer to see Martin Murray but Higginson-Andy Murray is more relevant on the domestic front and it looks on paper like the more competitive of the two fights.
