in their last fights, martinez was 170 while margo was 165. pacquiao weighed 148. you do the math.

there comes a point where a size disadvantage is already too much to overcome.

More realistic for Mawyeather, since he's closer to Martinez in size then Pac is. Don't expect either to entertain the idea though.

fight will only happen if Martinez kills himself to come down to 150 and a clause that states he can't rehydrate anymore than 160.

If you asked me this question yesterday. I would have said no.
Today I need to think about it. Martinez is 5′ 10″ with a reach 76″ reach. Margarito is 5′ 11″ with a 73″ reach.
    1. How much diffrance dose 3" in reach make?
    2. Can Martinez make 154?
    3. Is Pacquiao willing to fight at 154?
If the answer to #1 is "Not much", and the answers to 2 & 3 are "Yes". Than Pacquiao vs. Martinez makes sense.

these rehydration clause theories are ridiculous. margo did weigh-in @150 but he came in @165 during their fight. so, what happened to the so-called rehydration clause for this fight? :-(

Boxing is divided by weight classes. Not reach and height classes. Martinez will have 20lbs on Pac if they fight.

martinez already said that he is willing to fight pac @156 but not lower.

last time martinez made 154 was more than a year ago. i doubt he can still make the weight. martinez's statement above shows that he doesn't believe he can do it either.

and reach is not the question here, it's the size difference. pac weighed 148, martinez 170 and margo 165 in their last fights.

Mike Tyson is smaller than the two at 5'10'' and 71'' reach. Does that mean a hypothetical Pacquiao vs Tyson makes sense? Do you know know **** about boxing?

    Martinez 20lb weight disadvantage.

Martinez is overrated and has flaws that Pac can exploit. The fight won`t happen though he should avenge his loss to Margarito first.

    :good

This is correct and if ever pac will win, pac vs pbf will never happen and that loud mouth will cry for A-side myth :patsch

best will be Pac VS fmj , then Pac vs Martinez (if possible)

Over at the Scene, there's an article where Dibella himself stated that they will focus on getting Floyd or Cotto in the ring instead of Pac because back is "just too small".

There it goes folks. Straight from Martinez's promoters own mouth.

Pac is a natural lightweight, maybe junior welter. Martinez is a damn middleweight. Forget about that fight.

Ppl keep bringing up the Margo fight , but if you use your brain Margo was obviously too big for Pac. He was just slow as molasses, and style -wise made for Pac. It's not the same as fighting a middlewieght with good handspeed and knockout power. That's just crazy.
