Not much. The Canzoneri fight, one fight with a nondescript opponent whose name I can't recall, and I believe one other against a name opponent, but at the moment my mind is struggling to recall exactly who. I'll see if I can figure it out.

Edit: Make that 3 fights against nondescript opponents.

 

yeah i have seen the 2nd canzoneri fight and another fight where it was pretty much just a short clip.

as is quite often the case with fighters from that far back the fights that would be best to watch are not around. the 1st and 3rd fights with canzoneri would be good to have and the fights with the keed and the two with fuller and other fights with the likes of callahan and petrolle

 

Yeah, the supposed "name opponent" was probably just my memory playing tricks with me. I thought I'd seen his fight with Kid Chocolate, but I'm pretty sure that was Chocolate's fight with Battling Battalino. There's a few fight clips of Berg on British Pathe.

 

i watched one of the canzoneri/chocolate fights the other week a very high quality fight .chocolate was such a great boxer very smooth this may sound dumb but he seems to be thinking as much as fighting

 

That's one of my favorite fights, especially of the period. Anyone who wants to claim the inferiority of the past eras should give that fight a go. I didn't actually score it, but I believed Chocolate to have nicked it. One I should give a re-watch sometime soon for scoring purposes.

 

i had canzoneri winning a close fight but it was definately close enough for arguement.i certainlt dont but into the thought that modern is always better .though i do admit that fighters of the past at times may be viewed a little to flatteringly

 

You ever rescored the first laguna bout?

I think its Duran's best performance against a pure-boxer type, he swarms all over Buchanan who can't get going.

ken buchanan had the best left jab i've ever seen, had a decent left hook and was one tough man.top 10 of all time for me in the lightweights.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Johnny McGrory! That aside, no one could touch Benny Lynch's success in the ring and while I am a huge fan of Ken Buchanan's heart (what true boxing fan isn't?!?), there were many Scottish fighters with more technical skill in the ring.
