Hey WV2 might lose to ARCE and you got another good fight there...

Donaire plans to stay at bantamweight though because it is a stacked division... there is always time for the future...

What this will do is throw more wood into the fire and create a larger fire with GBP TOP RANK....

I know he's thinking about the present, but you also need to think long-term.. He can get the fights with Mares/Agbeko and Moreno now, but I just hope he hasn't screwed himself and returns back to Top Rank as he moves up in weight.. Donaire already said in an interview a while back, that he doesn't mind fighting on the undercard of Pacquiao as it would be an honor, plus fighting on the undercard of Pac will get him even more noticeable than he is now, as he is already a top P4P fighter..

Add a poll, if this is good or bad for his career.

Lopez and Gamboa will be begging to fight Nonito Donaire. If Arum wants to make money off Lopez and Gamboa, he will need to go through GBP eventually.

Since ESB morons know so much more about boxing careers than managers and financial advisors involved in boxing.

If Arum sues and wins, Donaire's career will be finished. His career will be stalled if litigation takes years to resolve. I hope he got one heck of a signing bonus.

    Exactly what I was thinking.

Arum has been pretty clear in saying that Top Rank had him under contract to 2012 (arguably 2013 because Donaire was injured and didn't fight as many times as he should have one year).

Arum isn't the kind of guy to just let this go - if he takes this to court, Donaire could be forced to sit out the next couple of years, which should be his absolute prime.

If that doesn't happen, we're far more likely to see him fight the guys from Showtime's tournament, so that's fine with me.

"Top Rank has a valid contract and we will enforce our rights," Arum told ESPN.com.

End of the day, a talent like Donaire needs to keep busy. Like other posters have said let's just hope this legal stuff doesn't hold his career up.

GBP is the worst promotions outfit out there. Donaire just did it to duck Juanma and Gamboa, that is really whyy he did it.

I wish Top Rank and Golden Boy would just merge.

GBP has the names at 118, so this is good for the short term.

    GBP poaching another TR fighter..

Hopefully, Nonito gets the big money he deserves. I don't see how GBP can make him better or marketable.

Wise move if Nonito wants to get out of the shadow of Manny Pacquiao. That's the only good I see from this move.

And that's a new record in ducking history, avoiding world champions fighting two wight classes higher.

BTW what makes people think JuanMa and Gamboa will remain with TR forever? Solis left and I bet Gamboa is growing impatient as Bob pushes the JuanMa showdown further and further back.
