don king has no problems with golden boy so if agbeko wins the BW tournament then a donaire-agbeko fight could happen. Mares is with golden boy so it would be easy to make a donaire-mares match up:happy

This..and don't forget the great upcoming PPV world title fights Ortiz-Berto, Maidana-Morales that they orchestrated. Bad move for Donaire, unless easy fights on HBO are what he's after. If it's about money, Donaire is a smaller weight fighter, so it's hard to see him getting those multi million dollar paydays. Khan didn't get a million for his last fight and he's a much bigger star, Alvarez only got 350K and he drew a record crowd and a good tv audience. Golden Boy aren't that fighter friendly as far as paying them their worth, they're out to make as much as they can off of them aswell. The biggest paydays he would get would come against a Juanma or Gamboa, he can kiss them goodbye now. And now the lawsuit..he's gone and created a mess for himself hasn't he?

Anybody remembered how long it took for gbp and top rank to settle pac's contract? This is basically the same thing in reverse. top rank is going to sue gbp, they will probably settle out of court, hopefully

I guess you can't wait to see a full load of Pac-Mosley, Cotto-Mayorga and Chavez Jr-Zbik showdowns alongside with Top Rank What's In Da House Keep In Da House matches.

Well said. TP and Arum are just toxic to most posters for personal reasons. Namley, their fave fighters don't like him, so they don't either. And he gets the blame for everything.

Ditto. Damned disappointing if these fights fail to happen in the future.

It's not a bad move in my opinion. Nonito is doing things his own way.... he's creating his own legacy and doesn't want to be in the shadows of anther Pinoy fighter as popular as Manny. I'm sure Bob would have done justice for nonito but he would always be 2nd to PAC until PAC left. With Golden Boy he can start creating his own claim to a truly great fighter being #1 to Golden Boy. Sure he may lose opportunities for some fights but if Nonito is as good as many believe he'll get the fights he wants and the fans want b/c the money will be worth burying the hatchet between rival promoters. I wish Nonito all the best! I hope he continues to win and build his stock.

Those weren't likely anyway. By the time Donaire grew into 126, Lopez and Gamboa would be probably be at 135.

Bob Arum runs Top Rank, they're one in the same.

.......and on Arum's take, I'm generalizing as I've read articles on his promotion or it might have been a co-promotion of a "Yory Boy" Campas fight where Arum made in the 100's of thousands while paying Campas less than 10 grand......

I read it years ago in I believe Ringtalk, as they covered the lawsuit that Campas had on Arum about this.

Its no secret Lance that Arum has historically underpaid exellent fighters what are attractions but not PPV stars under his promotion.

Bob Arum's take on these non-ppv star fighters has been, "you're not a ppv star, you get paid what I say you get paid."
........pretty much why Mayweather and Marquez left Arum and signed with GBP.

Are you ****ing kidding me Lance?

Arum is the same guy who with a straight face comes out and say's "Mayweather is a liar, he did not offer a 14 day window"...in regards to the Mayweather-Pac PED negotiations.......

Arum say's this with fervor in his voice and in emphatic fashion........the next day Arum was proven to have deliberately lied on the matter.

Things like this happen all the time.......

.....and I understand that promoters and not just Arum, are out to hide the truth, but with Arum he takes it a step further than hiding the truth, he outright lies.:-(

Outright lieing is not something that I've seen GBP take to doing.
