I think people forget who they're talking about.

Pacquiao is currently in his prime, and can only be described in the ring as a "monster".

Sergio Martinez hasn't done squat to deserve a fight against either Pac or May.

Let's see him rematch Marg, beat Cotto (which I think he will) before trying to go after the best.

Floyd and martinez both have a style that will beat pac. If sergio lands he will flatten pac.

I wouldn't say less of an advantage, probably comparable (at 154). Either way, whoever steps up to the disadvantage has balls but maybe the fight isn't meant to be.

    Are you on crack?

Martinez is small for a middleweight. He fights at 154 and 160.

Pacquiao has actually been a 'champion' (albeit a paper one) at 154 in his last fight. It's not unreasonable to call him out in a weight where he won a ****ing belt.

Martinez at 168 and 175? WTF?

    Bute 6'2"
    dirrell 6'2"
    froch 6'1"
    ward 6'1"
    martinez 5'9 1/4"
    pac 5'6 1/2

the height difference at least is 3 inches in favor of martinez vs pac and 3 to 4 inches disadvantage for martinez if he moves up.... i know size is not meassure on height alone but i think is easier for martienz to go down to 154 than to move up..

Well maybe not silly but he will beat him if they ever fight at 154. I watched the Martinez fight last weekend and I was expecting some kind of complete demolition (it sounded like it on ESB) but I was like, damn, this guy can get hit and if a guy like Pac can take him to deep waters, Pac'll will have a tremendous advantage in the later rounds.

Pac needs to use his footwork because he will still be the much faster guy, he cant trade punches like he did with Margo and Cotto just to open Sergio up. Sergio will come to him.

As much as I hate Floyd he will beat Martinez easier than Pac would.

I havent been wrong picking Pacquaio and thats 5 years. I will only pick Floyd against him and thats a fighttime pick.

Walking around at 170 means cutting 16 pounds, fighters like Pavlik would cut as much as 20, so he can probably still make 154, if not, lose a few pounds of muscle. Gaining the muscle necessary to fight at 168 pounds means adding 10 more. Forget about 175. I'd say he's better off fighting at 154 for sure. He's much to small to go higher, but then Pac going up to 154 is pretty brave, I admit I was worried for him against Margarito.

Well then you've beat the odds against everyone (To pick him against Oscar). I haven't been wrong in my Pac predictions since the Hatton fight, but so what. It really doesn't mean much... the idea of Pac beating Margo was essential a no brainer. Clottey was predictably going to shell up, and Cotto while a slight underdog had past defensive deficiencies and problems with speed. With Pac's movement and speed he was the smart favorite.

... But to play around with Martinez? Pac has the speed, but Martinez has timing, counter-punching ability, some defense, and ring smarts that far outweigh all of Pac's recent common opposition. It would be a tough fight, that's why it was stupid thing to see. And if you really mean easy I'd like to see what you mean by that... late stoppage or 10-2 scorecard for Pac? And the idea that Martinez will come after Pac because he's the bigger man is quite an assumption... I think a false assumption.
