Pac has went up far enough. I don't think he should fight at 154 again, Martinez should be looking for opponents elsewhere.

Also the hype surrounding Martinez is becoming ridiculous. I see little reason to put him above Wladimir or Marquez in a p4p list, never mind Mayweather or Pac

Martinez is a 160 lb. fighter. He should fight Cotto next. Perhaps Ward in the future, etc.

As a boxing fan, Id love to see this fight. The best fighter of the decade vs a top opponent at his peak..... and without a doubt the most dangerous fighter Pac would have faced since I cant even think of when. (Not best, but most dangerous)

But as a fan of Pac, honestly I could do without this fight. Pac is topped out IMO at 147, ya he did the whole Margarito fight at 150 or whatnot, but that was a BS jr middle fight to me anyways, being held by a welterweight and a guy whos career is at welter. I think its asking more then too much to expect Pac to fight Martinez at 154. And why I dont want it is, Pac has taken a lot of punishment in his career, people overlook that, but he has, and Martinez is a guy who can knock you out with one punch, and has the speed to land those shots.... I dont want to see Pac taking punches from a puncher like Martinez when he really has no buisness fighting at the weightclass to begin with.

If they did fight, despite being a big fan of Martinez, I would still be rooting for Pac. But I have to admit I am wary of the fight happening. I think Pac could win, but it would, to me, be the biggest win of his career and one he shouldnt be expected to take, let alone win.

That being said, there is no excuse, imo, for Floyd to not fight Martinez. Mayweather has fought comfortably at the weight, and has only gotten bigger since that fight. It would be the p4p number 2 and 3 squaring off, and that is without a doubt a fight that should be made. I wont hold my breath for that one.

If Martinez cant get a fight with Mayweather (he wont), he should target Sturm.... would love to see him dispose of this long time trinket holder. Would not be a shabby win eather, and would be a big fight overseas.

Also, people actually critizing Martinez calling out Pac are going overboard.

The fighter of the decade, p4p #1, an ATG opponent, and not to mention one of the biggest box office attractions in the sport is within one weight class of him, of course hes going to be calling him out.

Have you seen his frame. He looks like Pacquiao. Hes maxed out. He would end up somewhat like Abraham.
Pacquiao would love to fight Martinez,i think, but Arum is the matchmaker and Roach wants to protect Pacquiao as much as possible.

Explain to me how that works. He should fight another 154lb "Champion" (Foreman, Mayorga lol)

Jesus, what the **** are we talking about? Are you talking about why SRR is rated ahead of Ali in a career sense (which has absolutely nothing to do with my original point), or in a pound for pound sense (which has everything to do with what I was talking about)? Because you seem to be focusing on the former.

How many times do I have to paraphrase your "Who gives a **** about size?" humdinger, before it becomes redundant?

Then I guess there isn't. You're saying that if the Junior Middleweight or Middleweight champ beats the Welterweight champ then he moves up a notch on the pound for pound scale and I just don't agree with that. That makes no sense to me as pound for pound is about beating guys BIGGER than you, thus proving that pound for pound (if they were the same size), you are better. What is the disagreement that we have here?

Hmm, I'm not sure how I purportedly misread your quote. What I am sure of though, is that in the single sentence that you accused me of being illiterate, you managed to **** up your grammar and fail to spell "you're".

The old you're/your mistake, particularly given the juxtaposition of people who like to call others out for poor grammar or comprehension...

I've seen it a million times, and yet I still lol'd.

I think the proper perspective here is that Martinez is a fighter who can still make 154 if he wanted to but is maxing out at 160 while Pac is a fighter who can easily make 140 and is maxing out at 147.

I don't think any real boxing fan consider Pac's brief foray into 154 as legit anyway. I mean, it's a good win in my book, beating a good fighter who is 17 lbs heavier, but the belt was clearly bogus.
