He was also way more godly compared to Sergio. Sergio claimed the boxer he idolized the most growing up happened to be Roy!

Having a sexy face makes all the difference in the world.

    This thread is ****ing dumb.

    1. What does it matter what race he is?

    2. He's most likely completely (or very nearly) descended from Europeans! What other race would he be!? He's not a native.

In the United States, the term is in official use in the ethnonym Hispanic or Latino, defined as a person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture

    .

In this case, Sergio is both white and Latino. Vast majority of Argentinians are of European descent: Spain, Italy, Germany.

I did not for one second imply that white people cannot be poor you dumb ****. My point is that global inequalities have constructed the way we view race, and the first use of the term "Great White Hope" came from privileged whites in a segregated era looking to reestablish their social dominance within the context of the boxing world.

Martinez is Spanish by blood. Physically European. I get it. The point I'm making is the term "White", to "White" North Americans and Europeans, is more about cultural identity than skin pigmentation. Martinez, coming from a Latin American background, simply does not fit in well enough to be the representative of globally white populations.

Im just insinuating that perhaps it gives him an extra edge in popularity. Just calling it how it is. I mean hes to many #1 and have supplanted Pac and Floyd. It has taken Floyd to retire for Pac to move to #1 (and hes beaten everyone) thats how tough it was.

I can definitely see that as a factor :good Didn't mean to contradict that sentiment, it has a lot of merit, just wanted to make a distinction between the social contexts of white in LA and EU/NA.

HOw do we know Sexy Sergio might not be part black? he looks like he could have become extremely slick if he had the proper training growing up. We hazed Nonito to see if he's part black, it's only fair we do the same to Sergio!

    Good heritage there, mo bhuachaill.

But Italians and French, while possibly "Latin' can not be considered Latino.

    Happy St Patrick's Day !
