In this case, Sergio is both white and Latino. Vast majority of Argentinians are of European descent: Spain, Italy, Germany.

My point is that global inequalities have constructed the way we view race, and the first use of the term "Great White Hope" came from privileged whites in a segregated era looking to reestablish their social dominance within the context of the boxing world.

Martinez is Spanish by blood. Physically European. I get it. The point I'm making is the term "White", to "White" North Americans and Europeans, is more about cultural identity than skin pigmentation. Martinez, coming from a Latin American background, simply does not fit in well enough to be the representative of globally white populations.
