Why do people consider Bute vs Magee as a bad fight??

    nah i fully agree. im not saying bute isnt relevant. all im saying is that until the S6 tournament is over and we see Bute against some of them he isnt in that higher league to me.

    Look at it this way, Abraham isnt a good SMW who has recently suffered 2 clear losses and isnt as good a SMW as B Magee, yet Ward fighting Abraham isnt considered a bad fight, but it isnt as good a fight as Magee - Bute, even if Magee gets blasted out. Bute is able to take fighters out where as Ward doesnt punch too hard so has to go the rounds
    It was in Boxing News at one time.
    Still here is a link showing that Magee was offered a place in the Super 6 when Kessler pulled out.

    embarrassing as hell. been thinking that was true for a while. it made too much sense. boxing, of 10 year range, from the same region and have a similar...beautiful face. cousin maybe?.....grasping at straws now.

    If Magee's people told a newspaper he turned down an offer to join the S6 it must be true right? It was in the paper.

    I'm convinced that Abraham would walk through Magee like he was nothing more than a shop worn sparring partner(that's about what he is at this point). No one want's to see Magee v Bute but they would line up around the block to see Abraham v Bute.

    Magee outboxed Froch all night in their fight back in 2006 and gave freakin hell to him ! This guy is very ofenssive from round 1 to 12, he never gives up. This is not a walk in the park for anyone you stupid haters ! Back off ! It will be a very hard fight for Bute, a real test before a super six-er. I hope he will do great and win in spectacular fashion.

    And you are a first class fool or hater, or both. If Magee is C class then Froch is C+ class. Magee is better than Stieglitz and Sartison.

    You are correct here for a change, but that is due to name recognition not on what has happend recently. You have to consider that Magee, except for the loss to Froch, has never really been beaten, and the Froch fight was close. Abraham was clearly beaten by Froch and made to look poor where as Magee wasnt. So as said it is due to name recognition. I dont expect Magee to win or for the fight to be that competitive but do note it is not as bad a fight as Ward - Abraham (if you remove the S6 angle).
    If you look at the form line Magee is arguably a better fighter, even if it doesnt turn out to be a better fight

    You're right, the super 6 sticker fools some boxing fans. There have been great match ups but some have been average and still, people think they were good. Ward beating Green is very average. Bute gets loads of **** for fighting Magee, which is a more serious boxer and a tougher opponent than Green. Then, Ward faced Bika, who is tough, but some people who criticize Bute's resume finds this a good win for Ward. Abraham is not a top 5 boxer in the SMW division. Still, people think he's a very good win. Perspective matter. Time will settle that.
