With the publishing of the Yahoo pound for pound rankings earlier this week, Floyd Mayweather found himself relegated to third place, behind Manny Pacquiao and now also middleweight ace Sergio Martinez.

In just two months however, he will find himself out of the rankings altogether.

Some pound for pound rankings such as Yahoo's or The Ring's are based on the opinions and votes of a panel of experts, others such as BoxRec's use a points system to decide placings.

What most have in common is the removal of any fighters inactive for a year or more without another fight scheduled in the future, and one fighter who will soon fit into that category is former pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather.

They should take him out entirely. It's insulting for someone as skilled with a clear track record of dominance like Floyd to not be P4P King. It's all or nothing.

He was already on the P4P list as a prospect immediately after going pro and has stayed on it through all the active years of his careers. Not too many guys have that kind of dominance.

He won't be remembered for having a hot *****, he'll be remembered by the world for his boxing career.

It happens to all fighters who go on vacation. I have him outside of the top three any how.

rightfully so, its his own fault. He should be more active at this point in his career, waiting around doing nothing. Either retire or fight. The way he ray leonards in and out of retirement is annoying and is purely to be in the spotlights. If floyd doesnt schedule a fight before may 1 he should be off the list.

He'll be remembered as the man who turned down $50 million to fight a smaller man that everyone and their dog says Floyd can beat.

He's been off my list for a while now. Hopefully being shunned all across the board will motivate him to make a comeback. I'm not betting on it though. Boxing is fine without Floyd. It should be easy to forget him, especially if you despise him.

That's just amazing. Imagine Canelo being on the p4p list in a year

Wilfredo Benitez beat the P4P ranked Cervantes (74 - 9 - 3) at 17 to win the world light welter championship.

    Beat that Floyd.

By the WORLD? Much more likely he'll be remembered for this:

Meanwhile, the boxing diehards will remember him for this:

And finally, Ellerbie will remember him for this:
