It's a pay per view. Groves v DeGale as a solitary main event would hardly sell. It needs the bauble of a British fighter in a 'world' title fight to help it. As a double, it's just about passable as a decent ppv card (with a half decent undercard hopefully as well).

Everyone knows its the REAL main event anyways. Clev is an after thought to me. I'm travelling down from Edinburgh for Groves-DeGale.

Exactly - thread title made me chuckle. Clev fight is the NOMINAL main event as most people, including Nathan, realise. Two London fighters in a long anticipated grudge match in London. Few people talking Clev-Braehmer regarding this show.

Got to feel sorry for Clev at around the time of the Mag 7 card in sept it looked like he was going to be the next big Warren star

Maybe he would be if they took a risk and put him on top in Wales but it is a real gamble.

I think he will be a star, every time he steps up in class he has delivered.

hopefully its the same this time around.

It could be but I'm glad it isn't. We shouldn't consider these sort of fights good but we do. This should be the norm at all times. Glad Frank has made the fight and glad that its not the main event.

Clev seems to get a fair bit of travelling support and if Warren got the promotional hype train going in the way he did for Mitchell i'm sure they could draw a fair few thousand for Clev.

Maybe he is waiting to see if he can snatch the title before he commits. I wonder if Clev does get the title how long it will be before we see him in with a top name in the division.

Degale versus Groves is the main event in the scope of things, think Watson versus Benn, Watson versus Eubank etc. I'm sorry to say, but I doubt many non boxing fans (who spend hours on the boxing forum boards and have the knowledge) will have much interest in Nathan Clev at the moment, if he was English perhaps they would, but he's Welsh. Ricky Burn's last defence was more interesting to me. I would not make a DeGale versus Groves fight at this point in time. Clev gets a WBO title if he wins, which is far from a certainty.
