Agree with you there. He certainly was not afraid to mix it up with Pacquiao at times. When Pac would flurry, he was calculated enough to know he had to flurry back.
Every, everytime I spar that's usually the first punch I throw usually after a feint up top. You can never go wrong with a jab to the body it's a lost art that and mostly feinting. Good video but I did like the pull counter one better lol. I also almost never see the straight to the body nowadays too which I like to throw. I feel like a crafty veteran lol.
:| The way pac been fighting lately will not be as effective against floyd, i think pac knows this, he will have to pick his shots carefully. Pac has a bad habit when initiating a combo to leap a foot off the floor, if he does this to often floyd will time him and put him on his ass.
formless, maybe. fighting machine? certainly not. the jab works well against stiffs and guys who cant throw jabs. But would it work against a guy who throws bombs after bombs and without let up, no way.
yup, the man has skills, a mystery y he won't take a huge payday for an easy win his body does look real huge in the shane fight compared to those other fights
They beat each other up but I thought Morales won by a wide margin though I'm a Pacquiao fan. One thing that helped Morales win is with one of my favorite punches that's barely used nowadays, the straight to the body.
exactly. You feint and that makes your opponent to either counter or bring their hands up so you jab to the body. Then you feint to the body and by instinct there memory tells them to protect their body and then you jab to the head or do a 1-2 combination. The jab doesnt even have to be a hard one just make sure your chin is tucked in and you bring the left back to protect from the right and move to your right to take some power away from their right and timing off of it too because then they have to loop it on you. Even mosley had some success with it on floyd before he dropped that bomb on floyd.
Floyd Jr doesn't jab to the body against southpaws. He uses the right hand to the body, the same punch the Mexican gangster Erik Morales used to destroy emmanuel's body and deteriorate his stamina!
Correct. Feinting keeps the opponent too occupied on predicting what you're going to do next and when you see an opening you can strike from there. I haven't sparred in a while but when I did the guys I fought were virtually unhittable with headshots so I had to use a lot of feints and body jabs. My feinting got them off rhythm plus my awkwardness(and a bit of wildness but I fixed that now). No need to swing away 50 times and score nothing when you can land 15 times and score with each punch. My right glove was very close at all times I jabbed to the body and I did it at an angle to make it harder for guys to try to counter me. One of my favorite punches TBH.
