I will say this I know Kirkland is going to KO this bum and it is just a stay busy fight, but I would like to see him against decent opposition on his next fight. **** throw him against Serio Mora that would be a good fight to gage where Kirkland is at

Ramos is a decent prospect, handled by GBP. Quick handed southpaw. He had a good little war with Joshua Allotey last year. Jose "Loco" Hernandez is a tough guy; he had a FOTY candidate last year with Michael "Artista" Perez and this year he held undefeated Mickey Bey Jr. to a draw on the Donaire-Montiel undercard.

Yeah, it's just to stay busy. Kirkland fought just a couple of weeks ago!

Berrio - a typical Colombian banger - did give an unexpectedly tough fight to Maxim Vlasov on ESPN2 a while back, though.

    Round 1

Kirkland comes out aggressively, backing Berrio into a corner with his hard right jab and putting some combos together. Berrio tries to get his long arms pushed down across the back of Kirkland's head to neutralize him. Kirkland is insistent coming forward and throwing bombs. Berrio ties him up. Kirkland works the body with his left while struggling to get free. Berrio clinches him again. Kirkland just drops his hands and waits for the ref. Unseen rabbit punch by Berrio. Wild, sloppy exchange on the inside. Good uppercut by Kirkland. The two are smothering each other, too close to land anything hard.

    10-9 Kirkland

Oh yeah...the ring announcer introduced him as James "the Mandingo Warrior" Kirkland...

Since when is that his nickname? :huh

Kirkland is getting hit. Kirkland is fighting a tough akward game opponent but IDK. Still somethinh about Kirkland that does not impress me too much reminds me of when i first saw Danny Jacobs

    Round 2

Kirkland lets his punches go in bunches, and at times appears to have Berrio in trouble but has to keep working until finally Berrio takes a knee from an accumulation of clean blows. The Colombian is actually slumped to his hands and knees and doesn't want to get up.

    That is it! TKO2.

It was actually a blocked right hand that rocked Berrio, with a flush jab landing before he went down. There was no real powerful KD punch. He'd just had enough.

Yeah, this is best case scenario for him. Busy schedule, not quite total tomato cans but guys he can definitely get rid of (maybe getting progressively tougher so he can start working more and more rounds).

The worst thing he could do coming back from his time away would be to just sit around and fight infrequently, thinking he can pick up where he left off with only big fights resuming his momentum from 2 years ago from beating Vera and Julio.
