Who is the Better fighter and Who will have the Better Career...Kirkland or Lemieux?

I have said this time and time again (but no-one seems to bump that one...hmmm, wonder why?) James Kirkland is the Casual fan's delight...There is nothing special about what he brings to the ring. In fact, his style is guaranteed to give him a SHORT CAREER. He's way too reckless with NO regard to defense...AT ALL!!! It's all straight-forward "Punches in Bunches". Even before his prison stint, I have seen fights where he takes unnecessary punishment from lesser fighters...Example: Kirkland vs Allan Conyers

I doubt if Kirkland ever fights at 154lbs again. Last Night he looked Huge!!! And if he chooses to be a 160lbs or a 168lbs fighter and doesn't improve on avoiding punches...This will not end Pretty. As for Lemiuex, I have always been critical of him...not for lack of talent. But for not fighting quality opposition. Do I want him to face belt-holders in his first 12 fights...Absolutely Not!! But the fighters he has fought up to this point don't even make him GO ROUNDS. What can a young fighter learn from a resume full 1st and 2nd round KO's? Long Time Trainer Eddie Futch had a great saying: "If you continue to match a young fighter versus weak opposition, the only thing that will improve is the fighter's record...NOT THE FIGHTER"

I will give Kirkland's team props for matching him versus sturdy Brian Vera and somewhat skilled Joel Julio. It gave Kirkland a chance to go some rounds. But overall, Lemieux has more patience and has an understanding of pace. He waits for his opening....As to where Kirkland is Just Full Speed Ahead. IMO...I give the edge Lemieux. I just think that Reckless style of Kirkland works well versus lesser opponents. Imagine Kirkland Slugging Toe-2-Toe with a real Middleweight or SMW with POWER...Again, it won't end pretty!!!
