I imagine he trained but did not have any specific, serious training camps. Benitez felt the only point in training was to keep him in shape and that he already knew everything about boxing. Cus D'Amato couldn't teach him a thing when the two got together.

no where like he should have ... he peaked so young because of his complete lack of training .. he simply did not go to camp . forget about not learning, he didn't spar or hardly anything ...

But it doesn't really come down to laziness, but fear that he might seriously hurt or kill another opponent. I mean, would you call Batman lazy? Because he doesn't kill people either, and he would be a far more effective combatant if he used lethal force when it would be most efficient. That's what people don't understand about Batman when evaluating his unarmed combat skills, he could be much more efficient if he were willing to be as brutal as necessary. Kind of like Emile Grifith now that I think about it. Or, wait, that was what I was already saying.

    Concluded.

That's a vampire, that doesn't count. I'm sure Emile would have had no qualms about beating a vampire to death.

Juan Laporte tended to fight uninspired sometimes... And other times he was magnificent, sometimes didnt know which version you were getting.
