Solis either has no punch resistance or he just had some sort of mental break down... could he been paid off ? who knows.

But i think whats makes this worse was he did land 2-3 shots on vitali and seemed to be fighting the right fight, when he would go to the ropes he would change his tempo and come at him with a speedy combo.. Odd fight whats did vitali say in his interview ?

I think it's possible he went down and felt something, yeah. I don't think it was a punch which put him down though and I'd be surprised if it was a serious injury, regardless of what the doctors think.

Exactly. Glancing blows do not snap heads. Very similar to the Chambers fight.

Solis was coming forward, was exposed, got caught by a hook from a 6'7 250 hard hitting heavy, and lost his equilibrium. He was ktfo.

He wasn't even ****ing hurt! He took a second to go down and then when he was down, he immediately grabbed his leg. We aren't talking about him being knocked down and unaware of the situation. He was clearly not even close to being knocked out.

I know what you're saying about temple shots but this wasn't. It was a fairly weak punch which half landed on Solis' glove.

You do NOT fall down on your own and seriously cut off your meniscus without a punch causing your brain to stop controlling your legs. The only other way that happens is if there's water in the ring and a chair was thrown to his face making him stop thinking about his legs in the process.

Again, it's hard to cause that kind of damage to your knees without the brain's control over your legs to disappear first. The punch was there. Slo-mo vids prove it. More than half of Vitali's fist connected with Solis' temple, which is a real bad place to get hit on.

A dive that happened to result in him tearing his ACL?

    Jack, come on.

You obviously haven't seen the fight. It was such a masterful shot that only the keenest of eyes on the truest of boxing fans would be able to discern it. You clearly don't fit that criteria so you remain lost in that blinkered, cluster**** of nervous misfirings you call a brain.

It's pay 'cheque', you illiterate yank. :good

Ali/Liston is the most famous dive of all-time and was an infinitely better punch than what we saw tonight. Nobody questions Ali/Liston being a dive yet it was far more plausible than the **** from Solis.

Uh, sarcasm is a thing. How can no one see how thick it is about the Briggs/Green comment?

If it was a genuine shot, Vitali wouldn't have been so pissed off. He knew it was a dive.

I only changed a few letters here, Jack

    Shades of 1965.

In Sollis' defence, he was hit on a spot which doesn't need a lot of force to wobble a fighter, usually by way of delayed reaction.

It was at least as good a shot as Wlad's temple shot to Chambers which sent him to sleep for a few minutes.

And the location and delayed reaction were reminiscent of Roy's first KD of Trinidad in their fight.

On first watching, I felt as you and Lennox did. This looked like bull****.

But I've rewatched in slow-motion a few times and he was definitely caught on the temple with a decent smack from a big lad and and was going down no matter what state his legs were in.

In fact, I think the blow was what wobbled the left leg and it was the right leg that got injured on the trip down.

He lost the round up to that but he was competitive and less intimidated than a lot of Vitali's opponents.

Hard to see why he would pull such a stunt.
