(42-2, 39KOs) had a very quick victory when he stopped 2004 Olympic gold medal winner Odlanier Solis (17-1, 12KOs) in the first round of their contest at the Lanxess-Arena in Cologne, Germany. Klitschko landed a right hand at the end of the round, which made the Cuban star stumble back and take a bad fall which injured his right knee. The doctors believe that Solis suffered a ligament rupture and a possible meniscus tear.'"It was my knee,I think i took a wrong step back and then i stumble. "I hurt my knee and couldn't continue,These things happen in boxing."I think is going to take a long time to recover"...said Solis.

Whatever you say. I guess getting crumbled like that is hard to admit.

At least those like Briggs and Valuev are honest in defeat.

  3. Solis is junk, can't even last a round, and Briggs went the full 12:patsch just proves the amatures don't mean ****..:deal

Solis hurt himself because he's a fat slob and out of shape.

:rofl What do you expect them to say? Solis has a china chin? He walked into a punch?

Ahmet Ohner is just trying to get out of retiring as he promised if his fighter lost. What a ****ing tool.

Just because you get blasted in a round dosent mean your better than the other. Ok so we got Donaire blasting montiel out quick, does that mean that Montiel is a worst fighter than that guy that defeated Nonito years ago??? or Worst than Darchinyan?? it dosent work like that.

He hurt his knee after a head shot stopped his legs from working. Not one but BOTH legs.

And thanks for the kind words.

Nvm, I thought you meant to say that you believed Solis couldn't continue due to the effect of Vitali's punch, not the knee.

Solis has a glass head and was exposed. He fell and due to his obesity and unhealthy diet was injured like an 80 year old woman.

    Vitali by KO.

I just watched it in slow motion. I'm nae a fan of either lad. Solis took a glancing blow near the top of his head and tried to back up. I've seen this before. His leg twisted under him and he went down. No question. He's torn something in his knee. Anyone that looks at what happened in the ring up to that moment and still claims Solis quits is nae being honest with himself and you nae ken the sport!

Same glancing blow that Kd'd Chambers against Wlad. Of course Chambers took over 100 other power shots that night, and that final soft glancing one must've just been the final straw, right.

The upper sides of your head protect your brain more than any other part. When they are breeched, you lose equilibrium and your knees buckle. This happened, and the overweight challenger couldn't catch his balance, turned wrong trying, and pulled something. NOTHING NEW.

Just happy that he didn't go out cold ala Chambers. I really like Fast Eddie, and hated seeing him lying there like that after 12 semi competitive rounds with Wlad, and dozens of other great fights.

Same goes for Solis. I'm not a fan, but I'm happy he was seriously hurt. He'll be skipping robe in no time. Well, at least lifting the weights and hitting the bags.
