I rate him, his destruction of Miranda was impressive and the Andrade rematch was classy too, I still rate Ward is the best 12st fighter in the world with Froch a close second, I rate Bute like I rate Dirrell potentially exceptional and time will tell....

I think he's very good, certainly good enough to be fighting away from his hometown and without his personal referee.

The first Andrade fight was scandalous, the ref was in between the two so much it's a wonder he wasn't sparked himself..... then the 100 count at the end :-(

im merely pointing out that a magee who isnt very good, who drew with tony oakey and got blasted out by a shot reid... isnt world class.... and he caught Bute ALOT if thats people in the super6 tournament who are able to sustain the attack and with more speed then Mr Bute isnt around for long

His career to date reminds me of Calzaghe's prior to Lacy etc. I think he will have the big fights next year. Whether he can topple a Froch, Ward or Kessler his highly debatable but I guess the masses didnt start to rate Calzaghe until he beat Lacy.

Well it's a matter of opinion and I happen to not agree. Sorry about the **** comment lol! Walking around Cheshire oaks tends to make me angry!!
I just don't think we can truly judge until he's fought a froch or Kessler or ward. Hopefully once s6 finishes this will happe

He looks aesthetically good, but he's hittable.

I think Froch would nail him after half way whilst behind on the scorecard.

Don't believe what you hear about Bute's Canadian following. It is strictly in Quebec and even then he draws about 9-10,000 corwds in Montreal He does not sell out the arena and the PPV buy rate is 99% in Qubec and 1% elsewhere in Canada.Only in Quebec do they buy this hype job.:tired

You're clearly a bit blind if you think Bute is an ordinary type of fighter. His movement and head movement marks him out as far from just 'solid'. Solid fighters don't move like that. They don't have the speed. They can't counterpunch so effectively, not least to the body. Who do you see these days that so consistently drops people with counter bodyshots? He's top class, and despite what people say his chin is fine, he fought decent punchers in Andrade and especially Berrio, even Bika, and he handled it.

They just need to step him up to convince all these doubters.

im prepared for the backlash but I think Direll is the best SMW in the world if hes fit. Granted against Froch he didnt attack enough but when he did he had Froch in all kinds of trouble. He fought an Abraham that everyone still thought was a beast and outclassed him, doesnt get credit for that as now people write Abraham off. I hope he comes back and fights Bute. The people who rave about Butes speed would be given food for thought if he did

I give Bute a good chance to beat froch tbh, even though ill be rooting for Froch if a fight between the two ever comes off

Unfortunately Dirrell while being a great athlete and having the potential to outpoint anybody has a lot of flaws character wise. As well as a lack of strength and ability in close when people do get in range. It's not really much different to having a poor jab or bad footwork to have those issues. It's going to cost you at certain points when you're so easily ruffled and have to resort to cynical tactics.
