Just a couple questions to those who think it was a ''perfect shot''

    I wasn't gonna say anything in the aftermath to this farce of a fight....but i just have to ask these few questions to those who say Vitali hit him with a perfect shot....

    1. Why did Solis have SUCH a late reaction to the shot.....i mean we have seen late reaction KD's but this one was on a different level... he looked fine for a few seconds then randomly went down

    2. When the punch first landed, did you even NOTICE IT?! did you get up off your seat and say WOW WHAT A PUNCH? Coz i certainly didn't.

    3. Do you honestly think it was a hard shot? I've heard all the usual stuff about ''temple'' shots but it wasnt a hard shot.

    4. Most importantly. WHY did Vitali get so pissed off!?! WHY?! He knew it wasnt a significant shot. HE knew that wasnt enough to put someone down! so why did he get annoyed. tell me that please

    The fact that Vitali was so annoyed, and the fact that Solis denied the punch was that hard, makes it pretty clear the shot wasnt that hard. not hard enough to knock him down like that.

    MY TAKE ON IT is that Solis clearly suffered from his years of obesity. He is just not a fit athlete. And all that time of letting himself go took its toll. I think Haye was right in his assessment.

    I feel Solis plain and simply ****ed his leg up. Not because of Vitali's shot. But because of his lack of fitness and athleticism.

    It was not but about three seconds delay in reaction. Very common.

    Not at first, cause the angle the broadcast was showing live had Solis's back to us, and he was bent over when nailed.

    3. Do you honestly think it was a hard shot?

    Yes, it was. Watch the overhead angle and see how much Vitali's chest muscles are contorting from throwing it. Short, close to the body hook. Also common to inaccurately gauge the power in these short shots.

    4. Most importantly. WHY did Vitali get so pissed off!?!

    Cause I think even he didn't realize he had landed it, or that it had such devastating effects........as it was pretty fast and thrown in an awkward position. I think its also not uncommon for a fighter to not realize a fast, reaction/countering shot did the damage it really did.

    Plain and simple. The headshot took Solis's legs away, period. He was trying to stand on TWO rubber legs when he was holding the ropes. Not one rubber leg, but T W O.

    All this thread will get is...

    "I love Dr. SteelHammer, hardest hitting HW ever, everyone is scared, Solis beat Haye so Haye will lose, temple shot badly rocked him, Vitali is the best!"

    Personally I agree with what your saying but there are a lot of Klit fans on here who wont. Most wont even acknowledge that Solis was winning the round & outboxing Vitali.

    My take on this is that VITALI DID NOT GET HIS FIX. It as simple as that. There are drug addicts and there are ppl that enjoy beating up other ppl.

    How could vitali not know he landed it? If like you say he put his whole body into the shot and it was that powerful, he would KNOW he landed it. And he would not at all be surprised that Solis cant recover from it. Your answers to points 3 and 4 kind of contradict each other

    do you think the shot was THAt vicious that no matter what shape solis was in, he would have lost his legs like that?
    I dont.

    I feel the shot only raped solis's legs that badly coz of his years of obesity and due to him never taking care of his body.

    A proper athlete would not have lost his legs in such a fashion.

    Credit to Vitali though none of this is his fault

    this :deal vitali is a sadistic mean mofo, he wanted to punish solis like briggs, thats why he was so angry. And probably because he felt solis could have continued.

    you think he didnt know what effects it had? hes a VETERAN boxer! hes a huge strong guy. he knows his body and his power better than anyone. He knows full well if he catches someone with a vicious shot, they are getting KNOCKED OUT.
    Yet he was annoyed as hell. I mean how often is a boxer confused that hes put his opponent down? boxer's KNOW when they
    connect with a clean blow. and they know full well if its enough to cause damage or not

    I edited that, cause that was clearly incorrect and not what happened. Sorry.:good

    But reread my edited post.

    He did not put his whole body into it, and you can clearly see that he didn't. But he did put alot of strength into is, as his contoring chest clearly shows. It was far from a *get away* punch, it had alot of power in it.

    Not always. Foreman used to knockout opponents with glancing blows, as did Tyson. I doubt even they, themselves, always know the effects of it right away. How can they know, right away? That goes without saying, in my opinion.

    Given the fact that the fight was in progess and both were focused on reacting to the other fighter, I can understand a fighter not realizing, initially, that he connected good enough to hurt someone that bad.

    well agree to disagree i suppose.

    I just think there are too many factors to consider. The fact that there was such a late reaction. the fact that vitali was so annoyed and clearly thought solis was being a ***** (this could only have been coz vitali didnt think the punchs hould have hurt that bad), solis saying the punch didnt hurt him. Also watching it yourself the shot honestly doesn't look that powerful.

    All those factors considered i just feel the leg injury had more to do with solis's conditioning than Vitali's punch

    but like i said, credit to Vitali. none of this is his fault

    It wouldn't be the first time that has happened. Dehydration? I don't know

    No, I was as shocked as everyone else.

    Not a particularly hard shot, but one of those well placed (or luckily places) one in a thousand punches that cause a flash knockdown.

    His initial reaction was probably that it was a dive, like a lot of us thought at first. I soon changed my mind when I considered the flash knockdown / damaged knee scenario is far more plausable given how early it came in the fight and the success Solis was getting

    In summary, it was a one of those bizarre sequences of events that happen from time to time. It's disappointing, but hopefully Solis wil bounce back and get back in the mix once he's healed, and Vitali will line a fight up for June

    i pretty much feel the same.
    I just feel Solis's injury had more to do with his years of poor discipline and conditioning.

    A better conditioned fighter may have avoided the injury, I agree. Other than conditioning though, I think Solis came off quite well that round. I hope he makes a decent comeback and we get to see a Klitschko-Solis 2 (either brother)
