Just one of those shots that now and then causes a flash knockdown. Since the fight people have listed plenty of examples where this has happened before. The Klitschko-Chambers fight is a good example. It landed on the temple and didn't look like much, but Chambers (a guy with a proven good chin) was out cold
I admit I'm just pissed at all these idiots that somehow find a way to blame VK for knocking Solis down and winning in 1 round because Solis got injured while falling down. How is this VK's fault you imbeciles???
It was cleary a good punch, Vitali is awkward and always looks out of position, but he does this all the time, he got Solis to do exactly what he wanted, come in swinging wide, he backs up and though he doesn't seem set to punch he was, he was in a good position and the leverage he gets from his huge frame got some good power on that, it hit in just the right spot. Solis' eyes closed immediately and he was out cold on his feet, it took Vitali a second or two too notice it and you can see when he did he came right after him. If he did hurt his knee it was because he was so out of position when the lights went out, he was half in the splits. His legs, both of them were not acting right, he could not have continued in that condition, he had spagetti legs, you saw them doing all sorts of things, he couldn't control them. I'm still not sure he even hurt his knee, he wasn't wincing in pain on the ground, his eyes were still closed when he grabbed his leg, I feel he was trying to get them to move, not grabbing it in pain, even the whole time he sat on the stool after the fight he never winced in pain, never got treatment, it will be interesting to see what the MRI shows, but no matter what if you watch it and look at it fairly, that punch disconnected his brain, if he hurt his knee, it was after the lights went out and because he came in swinging like a wild man, all of his weight was coming forward and his head was dipping to the left, right into that punch, he saw it coming and put his hand up, but he got clipped, lucky punch probably, but still Vitali does this from awkward angles all the time, he deserves the credit for a big KO, I didn't see Solis even phase Vitali with those hooks he connected with. Solis clearly had his lights put out, rather he hurt his knee or not we don't even know yet for sure, and if he did it was after the punch. All of us would have liked to have seen more rounds, but at the end of the day what do you want? Vitali ko'd the guy, fair and square. Solis is built like Sponge Bob Squarepants, he's top heavy, he may be lucky if he ever fights again after the way his legs were acting. I hope they did a brain scan too for his own safety.
Great shot. Never underestimate the power of Dr.IronFist, this is a man with the highest KO percentage at HW. You can see the shot clearly clips him in the temple, sending him to the canvas because of it.
Best angle I've seen of it, yet. Thanks. And this even further supports that it was the shot that caused his legs to go out on him. Not one, but BOTH legs were mush. And the clip shows that the punch landed well enough. THe shot that Tyson nailed Berbeck with also seemed to glance and not do as much damage as you would think, but that happens in boxing with these big powerful, heavyhanded guys. To turn it into a math equasion: Top of Solis's head + Ironfist = TWO rubber legs. That is the equasion. Learn it, know it, FEAR it. :good
The injury to the knee happened from the way he landed. The fact that he landed was caused by his jelly leg (the other leg) caused by a blow to the top/side of the head. If your body can't handle falling down, then you are TKO'd. There were plenty more rights to be expected coming down to the top of the head from a 6' 8" fighter punching down on Solis for the rest of the fight had it continued. And the fact that he was stunned/wobbled by that one (which he clearly was from the jelly leg/wobble delayed reaction) is an indication that he probably could not have handled Vitali as the fight wore on. Also, Solis landed his best counter right hand earlier in the round and Vitali walked through it. He was not going to be able to hurt Vitali. Vitali would have kept pressuring him and eventually KO'd him anyway.
it is an art of self preservation, why take a lot of beating if u can pretend to get injured or intentionally want to injure yourself, the money is on the table, i think lot of fighters did it
He definitely wobbled from the punch and was going down. But I think the knee injury was because he went down funny. Still caused by Vitali's punch so a clean TKO no doubt.
