Yeah, it was only 1 round, but, solis landed some good shots in. Solis is slower than haye. If that was haye, it would of been Lewis vs. Vitali all over again.
Solis was being backed up with the jab the whole round and ate some big body shots. He also got decked in the first round. And round 1 is usually Vitali's worst round.
Vitali was putting some pressure on Solis, I think he might've bottled it when he got wobbled, because he knew he wasn't going to back up Vitali, something that was key to him winning.
I don't know about that. Solis connected witha few punches, but he never came remotely close to hurting V.K. Also Solis seemed to be keeping well out of range for a lot of the round before the K.O and attendant injury that caused the fight to end. I hope he re-matches Solis. I want to see more than one round of these two.
Vitali looked very beatable last night. But we can assume that the only person who might beat him would avoid him like the plague since it could cause serious problem at family reunions.
Nor does he have the balls to even begin trading bombs with Vitali. We all know Vitali is more than happy to trade with Haye, but Haye's blatantly ducking him. Still, some of the british posters are delusional enough to think Haye actually wants part of Vitali.
Ali threw more than 12 punches per round, and Ali actually had footwork, whereas Haye looks all over the place with his feet. Come on man....
Vitali looked beatable in round 1 vs Gomez and Sanders and Solis. Yet he won all three. People get carried away if a guy moves around the ring for a minute or two with Klitschko and extrapolate this into any ability to beat Vitali. If you want to beat Vitali you have to be able to digest his punch output and brutally beat him down in a war of attrition or pray he injures himself. I am absolutely unconvinced Solis was in any condition to take any amount of punches from Vitali. Heck he was stunned and momentarily disoriented by the first punch that landed on him. IMO, in his current conditioning, lack of discipline and general attitude Solis' entire plan for HW dominance has been cast in doubt.
Solis has better timing and a much wider skill arsenal than Haye, look at both vs. Monte Barrett. Odlanier was seconds away from winning the 1st round, true, but Sanders won the opener too, in fact almost knocked Vitali down, only to never win a round again. VK can adapt quickly and this fight was over before it really started - by a Vitali shot. People said Vitali is beatable when he failed to stop Kevin Johnson (and got hit by FIVE power shots in 12 rounds) and now he's beatable after a single-punch (though rare and awkward) knockout? Give me a break. Maybe Haye matches Lennox' speed and power, but that's the only thing he does, he's levels below in every other regard. Have you ever seen a single fight of Lewis? :huh With Vitali, there's not much to analyse. For that matter Vitali looked the most beatable vs. Sosnowski, his worst opponent in the past decade, and looked the best vs. the best. Vitali defies the beatable-unbeatable logic, he's different.
