all right I`m new here , I post once in awhille on another forum , going to start training to first lose weight , I was in the millitary for 8 years and was always in great shape , let`s just say I let myself go sense then and I want to get back in shape , I boxed as a teenager and in the millitary we would spar every now and again , I plan on going back to a boxing gym with in a month or two , but want to get in some what of fighting form , mon, wen, fri I will bo a boxing routine , that will start off with streching , 3 -3min rounds of jumping rope , 3-3min rounds of shadow boxing , 5-3min rounds on the heavy bag , 3-3min rounds of the doubble end bag , 3-3min rounds of shadow boxing , and streching to finsh it off , tues, thurs, sat, will be condtioning ,. I always enjoyed boxing workout more then weight training , in the millitary I enjoyed working out because I had a purpose , to be in shape , I hope to get the same feeling with my boxing workouts , I plan to compete here in the summer , so any advice you guys could give me (supplments , training , diet) I would apprcaite it
I agree with most of your advice, but this part is just bull****. If he want's to jog, he can do it any time. Why do you think jogging early morning or evening would be "extremely helpful" over jogging at any other time during the day or night?
I used to do my roadwork later on in the day but the past few weeks iv started them at 6am.feeling a million times better doing it early, dont know if its a case of not breating in the car fumes or maybe just mental but serioslly feel good
I was going to go run in the morning , my many goal is to lose the extra weight , I heard that running on a empty sthomach pulls youre fat for energy , my diet would be something along the lines of this , breakfast , six egg whites with spanich, mushrooms ,lean ham , fat free chesse , rolled up ina whole wheat tortila, and a serving of fruit (a orange or apple ) for a snack a whey protien shake or a another serving of fruit , lunch lean meat (chicken breast or fish ) brown rice and veggies , snack whey shake or fruit , dinner lean meat and veggies , no carbs , ? should I have the whey shake or fruit for snack , I`m lean towards the fruit also general boxing ? do you guys pefer to jump rope in the front of you`re workout or the end , having a debate with my brother , I say in the front for a good warm up he says at the end , thanks for the input
^Cardio in a fasted state in the morning is more beneficial for weight loss because your blood sugar levels are the lowest at that point in time. If you eat a banana or something before your run, it will spike your insulin levels making it harder to pull from fat sources when working out. At the end of the day, it matters more about total calories. The best time to do the workouts is whenever you can. Not everyone can workout at the ideal time of day every single day.
cool thanks, so I should focus on my total calorie intake and not really worry if I have something small to eat before I run ?
No point in running on an empty stomach. Weight loss = calories in vs calories out. What do you do after you run? That's right, eat. Also, you will run better having eaten than starving.
stop nit picking most people work during the day so its usually one or the other atsch he never said its better than jogging at noon or anything like that. did he ?
Picking out my post to comment on again? Well now that's a shocker, not like you do it a lot. Lets look at this. He's advocating early runs, saying they are "extremely helpful". If he wasn't he would have just said go and run. All I said is it doesn't matter when/if he runs, just if he does it doesn't matter when. You really feel the need to comment on most of my points just to try and start pointless arguments or what?
Actually you are wrong. When you jog does have a significant effect on the effectiveness of it. It matters. If you really want to be "right" you will do your research on the impact of when cardio exercise is performed on the body's efficiency in completing it.
So you have proof that running early in the morning is superior to running any other time during the day?
I didn't say superior. That is a different discussion. I said it makes a difference. A big difference. Obviously I do have proof. I wouldn't say it if I didn't. The proof is right on the Web if you search for it. The problem is that I see you in many threads being pretty short with people about various subjects. OK. Is that about "facts" or just about you being obnoxious? IMHO, this exchange exposes a lot. So is what you said actually true or are you just being a ***** to that guy? When challenged do you even have the intellectual curiosity to search out the truth? :think The fact that you don't know if I am right or not and asked me if I had proof when I told you the proof was readily available on the Web shows where you are coming from. :conf
Just going out and running will show improvement. I'm saying the guy doesn't have to run in the early morning as there's no huge benefits in doing so. If you have proof proving otherwise please post it up. The main reason I'm short is because people post up bull**** like it's fact. "Light weights for high reps to improve strength" for example. "You MUST run to be a good boxer" is another. If people post stupid things because they have literally no idea what they're talking about then I will be short. If people get upset because I'm a nasty Internets bully, they can always leave...
