That's a good point. Klotenic (Spelling) was definitely an EVT winner against Alexander. Malignaggi against Diaz I too! I can't remember the example I was thinking of when I asked that question about people claiming to win events.

Don't forget the one I mentioned earlier. He won the event against Floyd, who broke their contract and came in over weight. Juan Manuel went the distance with a far bigger man who was making up his own rules as he went along.

Marquez is pound for pound number 1 event winner, and it's not even close

I came here to bash but this had me actually laughing  but still... you know very well you can't compare these two "main events" from your post.

It's delightful to see another EVT expert on here :happy

It'd be an honour if you joined the Solis event winning thread which was linked on the first page. Unfortunately, there are some people that still don't realise that EVT wins exist in Boxing :verysad

I've just noticed that you already have, great EVT minds certainly do think alike :happy

    I smell bs.
You think that a unexpecting Dirrell, who already had taken heavy shots from AA, could take that punch. Abraham should have been DQ´d non the less.

Wow, he's most assuredly P4P #1 Event winner. The real question is where he ranks among the ATGs in Event Winning?

It's an honor and privilege to be appreciated and recognized by the great MagicMan91, a true EVT expert and pioneer of exposing the myth that EVT wins don't exist in boxing. :-(

You should be proud, your Solis thread is a real breakthrough. EVT wins do exist in boxing. :deal

What an incredibly astute insight from Relentless. He's uncovered a rare EVTKO win, the likes of which are incredibly rare these days

    Kudos :bbb

Am I right in thinking Cotto won the event against Margarito?

I personally disagree. I feel as the underdog Margarito won the fight and the event with his comeback and forcing of Cotto to take a knee and effectively say "no mas". The EVT win of Margarito is however very debatable, moreso in light of his handwrap shenanigans.

I too have thought that Cotto be granted an EVT win with high likelihood of Margo cheating. :deal However, I would accept a No Decision as far as EVT results are concerned. Cotto has a case for 2 EVT wins or no contests. Pac also "may" have been cheating. It needs to be factored in, but most likely Cotto is unable to crack the P4P EVT wins list regardless because of his loss to Malignaggi in EVT wins.

damn someone beat me to it... holyfield.

holyfield won the event against bowe 1, lewis 2, valuev, ruiz 3. but then he lost events to old foreman, old holmes, and lewis 1.

also, he has produced some of the true fan favourite fights, with relative nobodies like dokes and cooper.

Hmmm, it's interesting. It might be a case of the event being reversed in light of new evidence. If one fighter has been pummelled with concrete then for me he wins the event. Whichever way you saw the event, it's not a robbery

and duran has won a few events... against leonard (twice), hagler, barkley and camacho. arguably hearns too.

hearns won the event against leonard in the second fight, and at least got a draw against hagler.
